I bring a commitment to quality in kitchen, bath and outdoor kitchen design. I specialize in custom cabinetry for your home, it is my first priority. Tailoring all pieces to fit your project is what I do best! The products we offer are built to last a lifetime and can only be compared to the best in the industry. Several key details set us apart from our competition. For example, I can help you visualize your dream home through artistic interpretations and hand rendered drawings as well as Computer-aided renderings that give you a personal connection to your new space. To begin the design process, I will interview with you, discover your needs and desires to provide creative solutions for your entire home. My team of professionals can help you realize your dreams. We will be here for you throughout the entire design/build process. Beyond custom cabinetry, we also help you select and procure tile and appliances, surface coverings, wood flooring, counter tops, lighting, shower design, plumbing fixtures, paint colors and much much more! I will truly care about you and the exquisite completion of your home. I have worked hard throughout years to buy at a better rate and keep our margins down so we can offer our clients an honest fair value. I will not try to be everything to everyone, I want to be something great to a few key clients each year! I will travel outside of Michigan for a travel fee. Any design in Michigan is the same price no matter the zip code. My work has been seen on Food Network, KBIS, GLTE and all over Michigan, Ontario and one outdoor kitchen in California so far! I have been the Co-owner of the "Lake Street Design Studio" since 2003, and in 2017 Decided to invest in our future to remain at the forefront of cutting edge Kitchen and Bath Design and have created the State-of-the-Art Custom Experience Center in downtown Petoskey. We are currently working on our 2nd project with Dawn, at Petoskey Kitchens. The first project was a remodel of a 1915 log home. We connected so well with Dawn that we hired her for our personal home remodel, a distance of 3 hours from Petoskey.

We had a great potential space for a bathroom and entry mud room in the basement adjacent to the movie theatre. We had a bunch of leftover marble. I had won an auction for a gorgeous absolute black granite vanity bowl. Designs by Dawn listened to my needs for dramatic flair and form following function. The design team developed a few ideas utilitizing my goals, raw materials, and novel insights I had not considered to adddress every detail. When the dust settled, we had a magnificent bathroom that still looks like it is brand new and always gets lavish compliments from visitors. Go see them in their amazing new showroom to plan your new interior, kitchen, and/or bathrooms!

Dawn took on a remodel of a 100 year old Lodge and she made this place look fantastic!!!!. We get tons of complements on the looks and design and our guest think the kitchen is the best room in the Lodge. We look forward to working with her on other projects in the future. Designs by Dawn designed a total make over of my Family Room in 2013. We changed the Fireplace to a showpiece with River Rock and custom made Floating wood mantel and granite hearth with boxed wood holding compartment underneath. The ceiling is beautiful covered with stained wood 4 inch planking and the Cork Floor is cushy, eye pleasing and ecological. Crown moldings and a raised chair rail molding finish off the aesthetics. Design, color schemes, electrical and painting were provided by professional personnel, on time and superbly done. Dawn also designed and installed an absolutely beautiful Kitchen for me about 8 years ago.....using State of the art materials, appliances and once again ecological materials. It is the showcase of my home.

Working with Dawn and the other women at Lake Street Designs was a pleasure. Dawn has such an amazing gift for taking a dream and making it a reality. We went to Dawn asking for something different then the cookie cutter outdoor kitchen. As you can see, the extraordinary was accomplished. We have enjoyed entertaining our friends and family at our outdoor kitchen and bar. Thanks Dawn.

Great design, very uniquely us form and function working together! Dawn did a great job not only in her design work but also working with our budget. We live three hours away so she also acted as our general contratcor keeping everyone on track and dealing with issues as they arose. End result, a very special new look for our place finished on budget and almost on time! We could not have been more pleased with the results and look forward to working with her on next project! I would have included photos but didnt see a way to do that.

We hired Dawn because we wanted a quality kitchen remodel and we are so glad that we did. Dawn was extremely helpful with the entire first floor planning and design. Her design encompasses a show stopping new kitchen, ceiling treatment, fieldstone walls as an architectural element and, a completely functional floor plan. She helped us select new millwork which included window casing, base trim, ceiling details and a staircase balustrade. We loved several aspects of working with Dawn but we greatly appreciate her mechanical aptitude and knowledge of construction methods. Dawn brought in a team of outstanding finish carpenters which made us very comfortable knowing we had a true team of professionals that cared for our home doing our remodeling. We love what Dawn and her team have done in our home and we will be using Designs by Dawn again for future projects. Melissa

Dawn at Lake Street Design Studio was an absolute delight to work with. We had nothing but problems with our original outdoor counter top and Dawn was with us every step of the way. She handled the problems with professionalism and dedication. In the end we have a beautiful outdoor kitchen that we absolutely love! Anyone can receive a 5 star review when everything turns out as planned, but few can earn a 5 star when there are problems. We can't thank Dawn and Lake Street Design Studio enough for their help and guidance!

We hired Dawn to design what I would call a rustic-lux kitchen, she did a very professional job in the initial discussion, design, and implementation of this project. It was nearly a year in the planning phase, and when it all came together, it was like "wow!" I would never had the courage to mix cabinet colors like she did, or implement a stone facade around the cook stove. For anyone thinking that a designer just designs to their own taste, and not theirs, I would say a good designer takes what is in your head, and makes it a reality. Thank you, Dawn. It was on time and on budget.
