Dworsky Architecture is an architectural firm in Los Angeles offering architectural design, interior design and master planning. Our work has been recognized through design awards and publication in national and local publications. Our goals are to achieve design excellence, to fulfill our clients' vision and to maximize value for our clients while working within the unique parameters of each project. Dworsky Architecture was founded by Doug Dworsky who has extensive experience with a variety of project types and sizes including residential, institutional and commercial environments. Doug is a licensed architect in the State of California, is a member of the AIA (American Institute of Architects) and is a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Accredited Professional). Doug completed his undergraduate degree in architecture at Princeton University where he was awarded numerous honors including Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa and the Alpha Rho Chi Medal for excellence and leadership in architecture. He went on to receive a Masters in Architecture from Yale University where he also received several honors including a second award of the Alpha Rho Chi Medal. Doug also has extensive experience in real estate development serving as Vice President for Design and Development with Douglas Emmett and Company in Los Angeles, and later as the President of The Dworsky Group LLC which focuses on real estate development where quality design plays a key role in the success of the development process. Doug has served on the Board of Trustees for the Center for Early Education in West Hollywood, CA; on the Board of Directors for Alternative Living for the Aging in West Hollywood, CA; on the Board of Directors for Menorah Housing Foundation; and as a Member of the Westwood Design Review Board for the City of Los Angeles

I worked with Mr. Dworsky, as the General Contractor on this project. I must say in my 32 years of being in construction, I have rarely seen the dedication that a design architect has shown to his work as I have seen Doug do. He was always available to answer questions and facilitate the progress of the project. It is thanks to his dedication that we were able to deliver the project in 12 months.

Doug Dworsky is not only a consummate professional -- but also incredibly talented, likable and easy to work with. If you view "Palisades House No. 2" on this site, you will see the end result of the project he undertook on our behalf. This was originally a 2,500 sf, 1950s home of virtually non-existent architectural design that he transformed by a combination of demolition, expansion, and reworking of some of the original space. His input was substantial throughout all phases of the project inclusive of design, selection/advice on building and finish materials, landscape, hardscape and everything in between. In addition, his interaction with the general and sub-contractors was extensive, as not only is he a perfectionist, but he knows that the end result will have a greater reflection on him than them. Unlike other architects I have worked with in the past, he is a collaborator who is genuinely interested in, and desirous of, client input. I can’t recommend Doug more highly and happy to accept inquiries from prospective clients that you can arrange though him.

Doug Dworsky has been wonderful to work with on our home building project. We are tearing down our existing home and rebuilding on a difficult hillside property. Doug developed plans for the site that took into account all of the many difficult obstacles we faced with our property, while still exhibiting a beautiful sense of design. Doug is extremely conscientious, responsive, thorough, honest, and fair. Throughout the entire design process he presented us with various plan options to consider. He was always willing to listen to our point of view and we always felt that he valued our input. He was very mindful of our needs and our budget. He has made the design process enjoyable and easy. Since we are new to this process we needed to learn the most basic things about design and building, and Doug was a fantastic teacher. He walked us through the process and we always felt very involved with each step, from concept to drawings to meeting with contractors. We look forward to completing our project with Doug and we know that he will be a true partner for the rest of the process. We greatly value his aesthetic sense and know that he will be a great help in choosing finishes as he move forward. It has been a pleasure dealing with Doug and we highly recommend Doug Dworsky Architecture to everyone.

I could not be more pleased with Dworsky Architecture. We embarked on a major remodel, and from the beginning Doug was the perfect professional. He has incredible taste and was able to guide us from concept to design to execution so that the end result was far greater than we had even hoped. Doug worked beautifully with our contractor and quickly resolved any problems that arose with calmness and the utmost professional demeanor. The architectural design was so detailed that there were no surprises, and the job came in essentially exactly on budget. Every detail was sourced, every quote was reviewed and every question answered quickly. If you enjoy clean, contemporary design and are looking for an architectural firm that will be a pleasure to work with, I would heartily recommend DA.
