ducksnest is an interior design firm and principal Australian Importer & Distributor of award-winning Artisan - which is globally renowned for its innovative furniture design and quality craftsmanship. Established in 2009 by interior designer Susan Pehar, ducksnest was born out of the appreciation of inspired design and timeless, multi-generational and customisable pieces. Our showroom and studio in South Melbourne is highly curated - to display furniture pieces, lighting and art - encouraging interaction and space to appreciate and enjoy the unique designs and finishes. The expansive showroom is filled with natural light, which plays off the warm shades of the engineered timber flooring. Up above, the curvature of the waved ceiling further accentuates the beautiful simplicity of the space, while echoing the exquisite Artisan Furniture range, defined by gentle bends and continuity of line. “It’s imperative that our consultative and creative process is detailed, considerate, and also that it’s an enjoyable experience. We found Susan @ DucksNest to be a good listener who responds to our requirements within our parameters. She is pragmatic with terrific attention to detail which extends into her follow-up & arrangements. Susan communicates throughout the process so that we always know where things are at, along with where & why there might be delays in delivery. Exceptionally conscientious, Susan takes immense pride in her work. Her ideas, products and palates are well thought out and she isn't afraid to make recommendations which are better than your own ideas. Her style in design is fresh, with clean lines and thematically consistent or complementary. We have gone to Susan numerous times & would't hesitate to recommend her for projects small or large. Once you involve Susan, you get a reflection of your own emotional buy-in & she's commits wholeheartedly to your project, often moreso than you can yourself. She has excellent capacity for working with tradespeople & isn't someone who can be "bluffed" with what can or can't be achieved. Her personal warmth doesn't falter, but she can "crack the whip" with suppliers or tradespeople when that's necessary. You are working with a true professional when you work with Susan from DucksNest.

Glorious hand crafted furniture from Croatia , beautiful soft furnishings and so much more ... Susan has an excellent eye for detail and has helped me choose some gorgeous furniture for my home .
