Fred Wylds Design

First let me start off with my final review and experience. Wow!!! Wonderful, fantastic, and you will not go wrong with Fred Wylds. Now please read on for my full review. When Fred first came to the house, he explained his fee and the process of the remodel. The fee, if we used his cabinets, would be put towards the cabinet price. My wife and I had an immediate good feeling with Fred and for us this was a no brainer. Not only would we have an expert who knows kitchen remodels but a cabinet expert that knows how to put it all together. We had interviewed a few designers before we contacted Fred, but the way he explained the process and his knowledge of remodeling, it was a go for us. Once Fred came to the house and started measuring and planning of our ideal kitchen, we could see how beautiful it will be. He was on sight and available throughout the whole process even sending multiply drawings if needed. His years of experience in kitchen remodels and cabinetry was masterful, we knew we found the right person to help with our remodel. He then set us up with a contractor that he uses and between Fred and SRT Building, it was like dealing with the same minds that know what they are doing. Both are about doing the job right and taking care of the small details. Fred came with us to pick out flooring, tile, counter tops, and the hardware. He is a stickler for the details, the littlest of details that we would never even have thought of, he came up with suggestions that put this project above and beyond. I was expecting all sorts of headaches and problems from other peoples experiences, however not with Fred. I don't believe many people can say that their designer is now a part of the family but that is how we feel about Fred. Thank you!!!!!!

Working with Fred was a complete pleasure. The space for my kitchen was quite complicated, and Fred was able to implement the design in a way that was not only functional, but also beautiful. He was patient, working very hard to make everything fit to my specifications and to get the cabinets ordered in time to meet a looming deadline. He was very responsive and ALWAYS showed up when he said he would, usually waiting outside in his vehicle for at least 15 minutes ahead of our appointment. I can't emphasize enough how important Fred's professionalism was to me. It was incredibly reassuring to know that I could count on him, especially when my contractor proved to be so unreliable and incompetent. Fred was a breath of fresh air. He's had years of experience and it shows! He was able to anticipate potential problems with both design and installation and was able to offer solutions & workarounds. Fred really knows his stuff! On top of it all, he's just a really great guy ... thoughtful & friendly, with an infectious laugh. I could not have enjoyed working with him more!

Fred Wylds is the consummate professional who designed a beautiful, open kitchen for us that completely transformed our home. He is extremely knowledgeable about all things related to kitchen cabinets and guided us through the myriad choices and endless details, always mindful of our budget. He was also very helpful to us in choosing countertops and appliances and he worked seamlessly (and tirelessly) with our general contractor, flooring contractor and cabinet installer to make sure that all the different aspects of the project were being done properly and that everyone was on the same page. There are so many issues that come up in a kitchen remodel that go beyond just the choice and placement of the cabinetry and it was very reassuring to be able to get Fred’s expert advice. Fred also went the extra mile for us in many ways and came up with creative solutions to take the design and functionality of our kitchen to the next level. He was also responsive and timely. At the end of the process, everything paid off and Fred’s design worked beautifully. Six months later, we could not be happier with our kitchen and there is nothing we would change, a testament to Fred’s design process, knowledge understanding of our needs.

Working with Fred was great! We called him after a kitchen water leak led to a full kitchen demo and were in need of design help. He helped us craft a vision for the new kitchen, laid out lots of options, and over a series of meetings, both in person and online, whittled them down until we converged on the final design. His knowledge of cabinet design is amazingly deep, having been in the business for decades. Not only can he tell you anything you've ever wanted to know about cabinets and more generally kitchen design, he can answer all of your questions, and perhaps most importantly, save you from making design choices that impede ergonomics. After the design was finished Fred stayed in proactive communication with us, keeping us informed about the cabinet build process, and then continued on to join us often in the construction phase, where he paid attention to details and again made sure things were proceeding as intended. One of the things I especially liked about Fred is that he can pivot from working with someone who has a strong vision themselves of what they want, to someone that really has no idea, and just needs someone to bring in a design. That means he can work with you wherever you are on that spectrum of knowing what you want to having no idea. Even if you think you know what you want, again Fred's knowledge and forthright style will help you sharpen it and prevent mistakes. We'd absolutely go with Fred again for design needs. I hired Fred after I bought a house and thought that he could give some good remodeling ideas for the old kitchen. He responded right away and gave me a very through breakdown of a complete teardown and detailed rebuild which I went ahead with. Fred spent a lot of quality time with me helping me to decide the color scheme and the style of cabinets to pick. He also was very helpful to my installation contractor and coordinated with him every step of the way from start to completion. It took a lot of patience but Fred was there every step of the way from soup to nuts. The end result turned out be a fantastic kitchen and worth every penny. I highly recommend Fred as he is a true professional and he is a master at kitchen cabinetry design which is really a science. Every time I had a concern, Fred was there at the house physically present to address any issue and resolve it on the spot no matter how minute. Also, he has military timing precision when it comes to keeping his appointments and you can set your watch by his timing. He was never late and always kept his appointments with no funky excuses. Fred listened to our ideas for our kitchen remodel, improved on them, created prints, then supervised the construction to a large degree. The results are lovely, just want we wanted. When you work with Fred, he has a wonderful joy of life that spills over into everything he does. Due to this, we always wanted to see him, had good laughs and really enjoyed our time with him as well as the final product. No detail is too small for him, no question too meager - he wanted us to be happy with every aspect of the remodel and we are. He suggested vendors and construction teams all of whom turned out to be valued partners. He mentored our construction team and managed relations well so everyone got along. My Husband and I were in desperate need of an new master bathroom. When we met with Fred we knew he was perfect. He took his time and listened our needs. He gave us many option with high and low cost items and worked within our budget. We have been in our new bathroom for a few months now and absolutely LOVE it!! We highly recommend Fred for any project. He will be helping us remodel our kitchen next......can't wait!!
