DBJ Construction was established in 2008 by Gayle Martin. For the past 18 years, Gayle has been the owner of California Landscapes, an award winning landscaping company in the Los Angeles area, noted for its quality and beautiful results. Her motivation for establishing DBJ Construction stemmed from a genuine interest in building and providing a full service contracting business that would simplify projects from design to building/remodeling to the finished landscape. She continues her high standards in quality and communication with her clients to ensure that each project is personally supervised and green building alternatives are considered.

Highly recommended. Gayle and her team hard working team took great pride and care in my whole yard landscaping project. Gayle was patient, careful and on-schedule. I have a steep hillside and she was able to create a beautiful stone pathway through it leading up to a Japanese garden. She has made the time over the last several years to return to my project and check in on its progress. Highly recommended!

Susan Gillig

Gayle worked extensively on various projects in our 1920's house--updating our kitchen, painting the whole house, working on structural issues and an extensive garden project. These projects took place at several time over the past two years. I love all her work. She was very professional, had great ideas, easy to work with. She helped me think through what I wanted from the projects. I found her, David and Fernando full of creative ideas to make my vision a reality. I recommend this company very highly. And they were wonderful to have in my house for four or five months! Also, her follow through and reliability were excellent. The project took the amount of time she estimated. And I liked all her subcontractors.

DBJ Construction made what could have been a difficult 6 month construction and design project as easy and comfortable as is possible. Gayle, who is the designer and owner, was on site every day. Every possible problem that could arise was dealt with and adjusted for immediately and creatively. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. We had a very strict budget, and she came in right on it. There were a lot of days that got rained out. The crew made up the time on weekends, and at times, worked through the rain. We had a concrete pour that had to happen, and the guys put up tarps and did the pour in the rain. The guys on the crew, David and Fernando, were great, and not day laborers. They are craftsmen, who know their trade. The inspector knew Gayle and the crew, and trusted their work. They do not cut corners. They don't do what's easy, they do what's right. Gayle still comes by to check on the plants, and recently replaced plants that didn't make it. Above and beyond really describes Gayle, David, and Fernando.

We worked with Gayle, David and Fernando on our long-time dream of a new outdoor living space. From initial design to the final plant going in they asked questions, listened closely to our responses and created a custom, beautiful space that we use everyday. They are true artists who believe a job should be done right. Above all they have integrity and are lovely people.

I am so happy with the work that DBJ did for us on our home addition. Gayle is not only a delightful person to work with, but also a very talented designer. She offered many creative ideas that I would not have thought of on my own, and I'm so glad I listened to her advice. Her crew is the best-always on time and cheerful. And tidy! We have had the pleasure of working with Gayle Martin and her wonderful crew through many house/garden projects. We first hired her to xerascape our front yard, adding a new masonry walkway and driveway. We were so thrilled with the result that we hired her to do our kitchen and bathroom remodel. Again they knocked it out of the park. Updating our house, but keeping it completely authentic to its 1930s Spanish roots. People are constantly impressed with her beautiful work. Gayle has an artist's eye and her crew are master craftsmen. Every tiny detail is thought about and it just makes all the difference to the end result. Most recently she re-did our garage, making it a comfortable "hang-out" space. Gayle and her crew are true professionals and a joy to have around. We would recommend them highly to anyone.

Gayle Martin was recommended to me by a real estate agent friend. I hired her to remodel the garage and add a guest house. Gayle and everyone at DBJ were amazing! so creative and easy to communicate with. The city inspector even commented on the quality and care taken with the job . I could not be happier with the results and even had them landscape my back yard, which looks incredible as well. I have recommended DBJ to several friends and every one of them have been so grateful to have worked with Gayle. If you are looking for quality craftmanship and a wonderful , reliable , professional company, DBJ is it!

I love, Love, Love our deck and the landscaping surrounding it. Gayle is a joy to work with. She listens and hears. She considered my taste and desires and created a beautiful front yard for us. People still stop in front and tell me it’s the prettiest front yard in our whole complex.

Gayle is fantastic. She designed, constructed and planted my yard 20 years ago and came back recently to re-plant it when I wanted a change. She and her crew are so accommodating and all of their work is top quality. The attention is super-personalized and I have felt like the prices have been reasonable and the value is excellent. No detail is ever too small for Gayle and I'd never hesitate to recommend her to anyone for construction or landscaping.
