Pride in Craftsmanship since 1982. We are a family owned General Contracting business located in Pasadena, California. We specialize in the preservation of historic architecture and interiors, while providing our clients with 21st Century functionality. We look forward to working with you to make your house your home! We have been honored to participate in the Pasadena Showcase House, an all-volunteer organization. Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA) is a non-profit California Corporation whose members donate their time and talents to produce the annual Pasadena Showcase House of Design. It is one of the oldest, largest and most successful house and garden tours in the nation.

Joe restored my home in Bungalow Heaven about 10 years ago. I decided to call him for more work and noticed on his website that he had photos of my historic home and the work that he did. It sure looked nice back then, and all of his work has fit our family very well. The "patina" that our children have added to our home is a testament to the work, the advice, the brainstorming, and the quality from Joe way back then. I'm certainly not hesitating to contact him again (this time to add a french door and brick patio to our rear bedroom).

Grueter Construction remodeled our bathroom a few years ago. Every step of the way we enjoyed working with Joe and his team. Work was careful and thorough, and every subcontractor was of the highest quality. Would highly recommend Grueter Construction for your home upgrades!

We hired Grueter Construction for a restoration project on two homes, one from 1924 and one from 1947. Both locations had suffered through several decades of decay so the scope of the projects was substantial and comprehensive from plumbing to electrical to floor, window, door, kitchen, and bathroom restorations. The work further included a modest square footage expansion to one of the houses. End to end, Grueter Construction delivered excellent service at competitive value, taking time to understand our needs, source the necessary experts, and handle a process of substantial complexity to deliver a beautiful finished product. With both projects just completed, we feel they did a great job and would recommend Joe Grueter and his team, especially for those out there requiring some attention to historical detail.

I am a tile maker. The architect brought the client in on Friday to choose tiles for a fireplace. We laid out a design on Sunday and Joe installed it on Monday. See my posting for December 2014, www.facbook.com/pasadenacraftsmantile. Joe provided the dimensions and coordinated all the details cheerfully. He is easy to work with and a joy.

Joe renovated the kitchen, a bath and the back porch of our 100+ year old Craftsman home. He was very honest with his assessment and estimate, kept us fully informed of progress and challenges, did work of the highest caliber, and lived up to his promises and commitments. We have no reservations when recommending that you consult with Joe if you are considering a major renovation. We love our new kitchen, pantry, bath and porch. There is not a day that goes by that I don't thank my stars that we found Joe and his crew.

Grueter Construction is the best in town. They are meticulous with detail and workmanship, dependable and honest. As a designer I have worked with them several years on the Pasadena Showcase House of Design and know I will always see the best craftsmanship from them. i would highly recommend them for any project.
