Hindley & Co is an architectural and interior design practice led by internationally accomplished architect, Anne Hindley. Our studio’s work is defined by its distilled simplicity; materials, textures, framed views, scale, and light, are carefully considered to create elegant, arresting, and highly functional homes. We offer Architect Consultations, Interior Design Consultations, Pre-purchase design advice, feasibility studies, concept design, design development, town planning, construction documentation, building permit documentation, tendering and contractor selection, project management, contract administration, interior design, and interior decoration. We have extensive experience with heritage overlays, special building overlays and bushfire overlays. Our focus is on excellence of design and service. We prioritise harmonious working relationships between clients, ourselves, consultants, councils and contractors, with great outcomes for all. With over 20 years’ experience, we’ve developed meticulous and comprehensive practice methodologies. We are very pleased to receive the outstanding & professional service from Anne & her team. Anne has very sophisticated & international taste in design & her team are so efficient & responsive!! As a demanding client, they are patient & supportive. I am also impressed by how Anne managed issues/conflicts between client & builder in very professional way, she plays a valuable & constructive role between client & builder, monitor/supervise our builder to deliver good quality work! The money we invested in architect service is totally worth it - from the start at the feasibility study, cost simulation, tendering to project management! They have done a great job!! Highly recommended!

We have just completed a renovation and extension of a double fronted Victorian home in Elsternwick, designed by Anne and the team at Hindley & Co. Antonia Finnane

Anne came to us highly recommended by an architect friend. She did not disappoint. She took our half-baked plans for a double study/library (twin rooms separated by a hallway), and step by step helped us realise something better. We had no real understanding of materials and colours that might work, apart from what we might instinctively like on sight. Her knowledge and judgement in these respects was invaluable. She accommodated our whims, which included retaining our old red cedar doors and skirting boards. She put us onto a truly excellent team of builders for the actual work, and a top-notch carpenter, while helping us keep within budget. We continue to feel delighted with the result, which has satisfied both our practical needs and our desire to create a beautiful space in our Victorian-era home.

It was an absolute pleasure photographing Hindley & Co's Newtown project - Anne and her team have a sophisticated sensibility which is evident in all aspects of the project. The layout of the house maximised the opportunities/limitations of the site, their use of materials and light created a space that was open to incredible views and retained a warm, cosy feeling. I'm proud to add this project to my portfolio. Anne and all of the team have been a delight to work with, I can't recommend them highly enough.

Kommenteret: Best kitchen ever. Did you have the white knobs specially turned?I would probably not use them in that application - fridge doors need quite a bit of force to open, and a D pull allows you to use the strength of your arms more than your fingers.
