Horizon Services of New Castle County, DE

Last summer, I had a slow leak that ruined laminate flooring outside my utility room, in the above ground basement of my three-story townhouse (concrete slab). I was very happy I hired Horizon Services. Besides the clog repair, I took the technician's advice and had him install a condensation overflow cut-off switch (I am the second owner of the 7-year old house). Until I redo the basement flooring in porcelain tiles, I am glad I don't have to worry about this type of leak damaging the existing flooring. Horizon's technician was very professional, just as the company advertises, and I plan to use their services for routine maintenance and bathroom renovation projects in the future.

Horizon representative was expert in working with my HVAC system. He explained what he was doing and what he found with the system, specifically that the age of the heater and the A/C unit were excessive. I appreciate that he explained the age of the equipment along with his findings of rust and wear.

Service technician was professional, dressed neatly, covered his feet when working in house. He evaluated my needs and detailed what was required to complete the job. In addition he offered discounts for the services. Work was completed in a very acceptable amount of time. He cleaned up the worksite and left me a satisfied customer. I will definitely use Horizon again. What I like is that they tell you up front how much the job will cost, and offer alternatives if they exist to complete the job in a less costly fashion.

I needed to have a bathroom sink drain cleared and Chris was at my home within 30 minutes. He just finished another job in the area so he really isn't that fast but he is a great guy and was very professional. I would have no problems calling Horizon Services for plumbing needs in the future.

I called Horizon to install a water feed for a new sprinkler system I was having installed. They responded almost immediately. My call was placed at about 9 AM and their technician was at my home at 12:15. The work was done in a very professional manner at the quoted price. The technician was pleasant and polite and cleaned up after his work was finished. This TV commercials are true! Way to go Horizon!

I cannot remember the name of the guy who came out, but he was awesome. Very nice and explained what he was doing and how he was doing it. I am curious about it all so it was nice to have a personal guy help fix my problems. I'd definitely hire him again. (Give him a raise)

Horizon has always been courteous, helpful, and priced competively. Always use them on our residence and rental properties. I highly recommend them.

I hired this company and bought the monthly service contract. In December, my heater broke so I called them to come com take a look. I was informed that it needed a part and it would cost about $2000 to repair. I would probably need to replace it in another year so they strongly urged me to replace the entire unit for $15000. Well, $15000 at Christmas is quite a bit of money, so I said I would take the cheaper option. They told me the part would take a few days to come in so I waited...and waited. I called them to ask about the progress and was told it still was backordered and they were sorry. In the meantime, my house was cold. They were very sympathetic and kept offering me financing for a new unit. I started to get suspicious after 2 weeks or so of being told my part still wasn't in and asked the father of my son's friend to come take a look. He works in HVAC at an office building. He took a look and after 30 seconds, said let me run to the hardware store. He came back with a part that cost less than $5 and fixed the heater in about 10 minutes. He said it was HVAC 101, the 1st thing anyone learns in heating repair. Any repairman would know to look for this in a broken heater. I feel I was intentionally misled and would never hire Horizon for any job again. (I feel I represented this job accurately and respectfully and hope that it is viewed as such. )

I took part in the Horizon Services offering for a system tune up in the fall of last year that would also include an AC check this summer and a follow up for the fall for the heater. The last year fall service on the heater was to check out my system and make sure it was prepared for the winter, that went well. No concerns, except for the age of my system. In June I had the AC service checked, the rep went above and beyond to help me out. He found the manual for my unit (attached to the unit) and found the best possible settings for the fan which actually made the system run better, quieter and more efficient. I thank him and Horizon's approach for doing something that the installer did not even tell me about, Thank You.

Installation of a new heater and AC unit. Outstanding work. Respectful workers. Work completed in one day. Work area was cleaned up and returned to perfect condition.
