Greg Hunnicutt has been working in residential construction for over 25 years. A natural born Texan, Greg lives in the heart of Houston with his wife and business partner, Susan, and their daughter. He specializes in custom furniture, cabinetry, and fine woodworking in addition to all aspects of custom remodeling. Susan Simmons has been a designer and artist her whole life. She is interested in highly functional spaces that are aesthetically pleasing. A native Houstonian, Simmons’ experience extends outside of Texas to Australia and South Africa, Detroit, Michigan and Marfa, Texas. Each place has left a distinct impression on her as examples for integrating art and life as one. Simmons holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Hunnicutt Construction is a residential general contractor that specializes in historic home renovations and design planning. We offer small boutique design services for kitchens and baths in addition to extensive experience working with area architects and engineers for larger residential remodeling projects. Our size allows us to work with a range of select clients so each project is followed with detailed attention and high customer service. Based in Houston, Texas, Hunnicutt Construction has over 25 years of industry experience. We are a small company with a tried and true team of subcontractors.

Greg and Susan did a fantastic job with my kitchen repair/remodel! After sustaining damage from a longterm, hidden leak under our kitchen sink, the entire center portion of our kitchen had to be remediated (for mold) and rebuilt. Susan was awesome in redesigning the area to be more functional (e.g., added storage cabinets on the frontside of the bar for our son's toys), aesthetically pleasing (e.g., replaced old the stainless steel sink with beautiful cast-iron farmhouse one), and well integrated with the remaining kitchen (e.g., found fabricated cabinets that were a near-perfect match to what we remained elsewhere). Greg ensured that the project was kept on schedule and budget and that the finished product was of the highest quality. My wife and I are thrilled with our new kitchen, and so we couldn't be more enthusiastic and confident in giving this design-and-construction team an absolutely stellar recommendation.

I hired Hunnicutt Construction to do tile, trim, paint and custom furniture in 2016. I was very pleased with the professionalism and expertise of the company. The finished project was absolutely beautiful, it was exactly what I envisioned. I highly recommend Hunnicutt Construction and I would definitely hire them for any future projects.

Wow, we are quite happy with our freshly remodeled home on Bank St. The team approach at Hunnicutt Construction and Design presented to us was quite welcoming as we felt we were considered all along the process. Working on a relatively tight budget, the team was conscientious and put us as ease on that point alone. As we are a family of five, we felt that we had to consider our family’s needs as our kiddo’s grew. Susan, our designer was quite knowledgeable with considering important design and functional features. Ultimately, we chose a design option that fit our lifestyle with very functional and “crisp” looking cabinets to our kitchen and bathrooms. Oh, our new track lighting in our kitchen and our living area has brought much life there too! We could not have asked for a better experience while working with Hunnicutt Construction and Design at every step of the process. I highly recommend the great folks at Hunnicutt Construction! We worked together on an interior remodel with some remediation due to rainwater infiltration. Their expertise was impressive, as was the ability to find some pretty obscure replacement materials. The efforts they went to to work within tight constraints was appreciated, and they talked through any concerns or issues that they could foresee.

Greg remodeled my 100 year old house and in the process transformed it from a dodgy mess to a showplace. He knocked down walls, installed pony walls, French doors, refinished my oak floors with a traditional tung oil finish, replaced linoleum floors with stone, Formica counters with poured concrete, and replaced the hideous clam shell moulding and luan paneling with period appropriate moulding and even restored my plaster walls. Everyone who enters my house comments "You have a beautiful home."
