Ian Dunn Woodwork & Design was established in 1981 by Ian Dunn. We have over 40 years of experience in designing and producing both traditional and modern furniture. We love kitchens – they are the hub of the modern home with areas to cook, eat, relax, socialise and such an important part of the home to get right! Our experienced team knows how to interpret and realise your dream interiors, every project is unique and we love a challenge! We specialise in bespoke cabinetry with a team of highly skilled craftsmen and designers who have an exceptional eye for detail, building a range of domestic and commercial furniture, from kitchens and bathrooms to fitted and freestanding furniture. Our cabinetry ranges from traditional to contemporary, whilst also producing designs to complement existing property features. We ensure each project is managed impeccably from start to finish with our designers. We work closely with architects, interior designers, builders and clients, assisting and suggesting a wide range of fittings and finishes. We pride ourselves in using timber from responsible suppliers with FSC, PEFC or SFI certifications, thus minimising our carbon footprint. I would advise people to avoid Ian Dunn. I have a friend who has been waiting over a year for a project to be concluded. Umpteen excuses, people fail to show up.

Very pleased with my bespoke, contemporary built -in wardrobes in Wimborne White with contrasting American Oak handles. Delighted with the design and quality. A solid piece of furniture built to last and an enhancement to my spare bedroom. The installation process went smoothly despite, understandably, a short delay due to the pandemic. Would definitely consider Ian Dunn for future projects.

We cannot recommend Ian Dunn Woodwork and Design company highly enough. We purchased our Bora hob from the company and the team provided superb support to us throughout our recent kitchen project . Visiting their East Dulwich workshop and seeing the exquisite, craftmanship of the bespoke furniture pieces was an absolute delight. In addition to the obvious expert skills and knowledge base of the team Ian and Jacqui have gathered around them, the welcoming attitude of all staff also stands out with all queries, however small, responded to promptly. Ian Dunn and his team installed a new kitchen and also built bespoke walnut storage under a new gas fireplace. Many aspects of working with Ian Dunn are “5 star” particularly the advice I received on kitchen design and layout, and choice of appliances and materials. The workmanship itself has also been outstanding. I have ended up with a stunning kitchen, and beautiful walnut fireplace storage, both of which I absolutely love. The aftercare is also very good, with the team turning up at very short notice to help iron out any small teething problems once the kitchen is installed. And the entire team are very personable and pleasant. However the business really needs a project manager to help manage client expectations. There was a consistent problem with responsiveness, project planning, and delivering to time, which made it at times a very frustrating experience to be their client - and I say this even after taking into account understandable issues with staff absence, Covid etc. With a better project management system in place, I feel they would then be the genuinely 5 star business they have the potential to become.

Ian and his team built bespoke wardrobes for a bedroom as a part of an extensive renovation of our home. The end product looked the part but was not perfect in terms of the finish. We suffered from repeated delays with little notice and lack of communication about timing and actions to be taken to rectify a number of issues and unfinished works. A lot of chasing emails were needed to achieve a response.

We engaged Ian and his team to produce all the bespoke joinery (except the kitchen) as part of a large scale house renovation and extension project. Ian and the team assisted us through ever stage of the process; we had a clear vision of what we wanted in some areas, which was successful brought out in the design process, whilst in other areas he had excellent ideas and suggestions of how we might do things differently. The quality of the final product was excellent and Ian and the team dealt very effectively with the issues which arose along the way. I would strongly recommend them.

I have just taken possession of the most magnificent chest of drawers. As ridiculous as it might sound they are just perfect, the finish inside is pale oak, the exterior is exactly the high gloss pale grey that I wanted. It was certainly worth the wait and I have already placed another order for some additional items. The price reflects the professional workmanship which has never been cheap in any profession, but it has been worth it.

Ian and team worked on the design, production and fitting of our bespoke wardrobes. Excellent result and craftsmanship. The team were lovely to deal with. The process did take quite a bit longer than we hoped, but we are thrilled with the final result.

I commissioned Ian Dunn Woodwork & design to produce a number of wardrobes, a desk and office storage, TV unit and hall bench for a client. The furniture pieces were produced to a very high standard with oak drawer boxes throughout and sprayed doors/ veneered wood to suit each room scheme. I found all contacts at the company to be very helpful, easy to work with and knowledgeable. Although there were some delays to the project, they were highly responsive to snagging issues and I felt they went the extra mile to ensure both I and my client were delighted with the final outcome.

Ian Dunn Woodwork and Design worked with us to create a stunning kitchen. They worked seamlessly with our contractors during the planning and installation. We appreciated their willingness to rework some of the concepts when the project developed a temporary hitch, and found them easy to work with on all levels. The quality of the kitchen is lovely, as are the accessories they recommended. In addition, they have been very responsive to snagging and small concerns. We recommend them completely.
