I have used Brian and Ric since the beginnings of their company. THey are now working on stage 3 or our renovations and have always exceeded out expectations, responded to quests in a timely manner and best of all, worked with us to stay within our bedget. THey are truly a shining example of what contractors SHOULD be.

One-stop shop for all renovation needs with both design and construction elements working in tandem. This began with the initial walk through to discuss the project and continued through final punch list items. The project involved a complete renovation of the kitchen, master bath, and guest bath within a mid-rise condominium building as well as other electrical, drywall and painting projects throughout the apartment. Tiffany (designer) really listened to what I wanted and proposed designs consistent with my modern style aesthetic. Brian (construction) proposed creative solutions when we ran into building infrastructure issues. And Nick (project manager) kept the project moving along and on schedule while proactively managing issues as those arose. The final work product is very high quality, and I am beyond thrilled with the results. Not the cheapest contractor you can hire but if you are looking for both design and construction assistance, IDB is an excellent solution which I would highly recommend.

We bought a 1950s home in Lauderdale by the Sea that had great bones but needed A LOT of love. The team at Innovative Design Build helped us transform this outdated house into a modern beachside home for our young family. We have even hired IDB subsequent to our remodel to do smaller follow-up projects. We highly recommend their services! PROS: + Extremely trustworthy, honest, communicative and accountable (because let's face it, not everything goes according to plan with a major, multi-faceted project, so these qualities are SOOO important!) + Used helpful tools like 3D renderings and the SmartSheet app to keep us informed and up-to-date on how our project was progressing and budget was being allocated across various line items + Very involved team who always popped by the house for meetings to ensure that we were happy and understood what was going on CONS (with remedy): - One of the sub-contractor's work was of poor quality. When we raised our concerns to IDB, they had the work redone.

We have a condo in the Ft Lauderdale area that badly needed a kitchen and flooring renovation. It was a very small condo kitchen that felt very closed in with old, out dated design. We wanted a more open and functional kitchen. We don't live in Ft Lauderdale full time. Our residence is in Atlanta, GA, so this was going to be a long distance renovation with minimal overseeing of the project on our part. The whole process was seamless and worry free thanks to Brian and Rick. I doubt we will ever have another need for their services again, but should we, my first and only call would be to Brian, Rick, and Tiffany, at Innovative Design Build, to do the work. The first three pictures are before reno showing a very closed in and outdated designed condo kitchen. The last two pictures are of our new large, open, functional kitchen.

I am glad to see others have had positive experiences. I do not call into question the character of the company, but I feel compelled to caution people as to the possibility that the company may not be able to deliver what they imply than can do. Well past a year, long after the time I thought my house would have been renovated and livable, I was informed that they would not be able to complete the project as agreed. It took some time for them to get started on the project and when they did, the costs kept rising to the point of the budget nearly doubling. We worked together to eliminate virtually everything on my wish list, leaving a basic renovation which was still well over budget. They proceeded doing demolition work while working to obtain permits. When it came to the point of the house being torn apart, city code violations being posted to the door, and being told they would not be able to completely finish the project, that I felt my best option was to sell the house. I ended up walking away from what I had hoped would be my home and having lost well into the tens of thousands of dollars and time out of my life in doing so. I am glad others have had positive experiences. I do not doubt the company has had successes, but again, I do caution people to proceed premeditatively.

We are sorry you feel a one star rating is warranted, we felt we had a good working relationship. That being said the situational facts are as follows:
The house was abandoned for many years and we collectively decided to complete the roof first (permitted) as it was leaking in many locations with water pooling on the floors. During the roof replacement we started the design of the interior and began to compile the wish list for the renovation. Some of the additional issues that were addressed at this time were the infestation of bees, the rotted fascia, decking, rafters, studs, water soaked plaster ceilings and walls all included in roofing package. In retrospect, since we were cited by code enforcement for interior work without permit, perhaps we should have left this to continue to deteriorate and mold. These actions were taken in the interest of moving forward on the project and also to facilitate full discovery of site conditions and to improve those conditions. After completion of the roof and a portion of the interior demolition for unknown reasons you decided to put a three (3) month pause on the project.

Subsequently we had our plumber “camera” the underground plumbing we discovered it had total collapsed and that there were rats using the remaining piping for nesting and underground travel routes. We initiated the slab cutting for the repairs of the collapsed drain system.

Ultimately, by the time we addressed the costs for the needed full replacement of the underground plumbing, the full electrical system, the impact windows, the AC system and the design wish list the renovation costs exceeded the 50% threshold of the building value which triggers the FEMA regulations, for residences located in a flood plain, that require a raised base floor elevation. In an effort to work within the FEMA guidelines and restrictions we spent countless hours to redesign the interior at no additional cost and offered cost saving options i.e. leave the existing windows in place and omitting some of the wish list items. There were some additional renovations that could be completed while remaining in compliance with FEMA flood plain guidelines. The goal was to make the house habitable and wait until the 2 year FEMA “look back” period had expired. It was at this time that communication on your part was paused for a considerable (3-4 month) period. During this period you made the decision to sell rather than continue with the project.

We certainly feel bad as we know there were unexpected costs a) at the purchase closing due to outstanding liens b) your hiring of an architect to develop a full set of plans which you elected not to use which (prior to our involvement in the project) c) the aforementioned site conditions. From our perspective the worst part is we have an unhappy customer.

We feel that had you stayed the course with us, at the time of this posted review you could have been writing a very different review from the home you purchased albeit with some scopes held in abeyance until the FEMA look back period had expired. In retrospect based on the condition of the existing structure we should have recommended a complete teardown and a fresh start although you were emphatic that you wanted to maintain the look, feel and character of the original residence. We are truly sorry that we were not able to provide you with desired intent.

Innovative Design Build was recommended to me by a friend in the design trade. She said they were the company she would use in her own home. We were very pleased with the finished product and the quality of work performed. As with any extensive remodel, minor issues were encountered but they were always resolved in an upfront and honest manner. Rick, Brian and Tiffany are a good working team and bring a lot of experience to the table. Rick stayed on top of the entire project and was very responsive to any issues we brought up. Brian is the master of any and all construction issues. Special shout out to Tiffany who I dealt with the most. She is a great designer with great problem solving and communication skills. She brought a lot of value to our project.

We enjoyed working with Brian and Rick. They are very familiar with construction in Ft. Lauderdale and dealing with the permitting process. We especially enjoyed working with their designer, Tiffany. She was very helpful in bringing our vision for what we wanted, utilizing modern materials into a design we were thrilled with in the end. She was diligent in keeping everything on track making sure that we were happy with each step of the process. As in any project there were small bumps. However the whole crew helped smooth them out and we all had a finished product we could be proud of.

We have worked with Innovative Design Build on countless projects together throughout the years and have to say that their attention to detail, professionalism and craftsmanship are second to none. Rick, Brian and Tiffany really are a dream team when it comes to creating beautiful spaces on time and compliant with budgets. We wouldn't recommend anyone else to get the job done right!

EXTREMELY professional; have had done a couple of condos Rick by far has been the very best delivery was a month price was accepted both were on time and on budget. Easy to reach Tiffany co ordinated every thing done by email cell text impossible to ask for more. Very very happy with results.
