J & S Landscaping and Design

j&s landscaping and design is located in granville county, just outside of wake forest nc. our company was established in 1999 by jonathon and suzanne smith, both graduates from north carolina state university. jonathon has an associates degree in ornamentals and landscape technology. he has experience in many areas of the green industry. jonathon worked for two years in retail nursery sales, while attending pitt community college in greenville, nc. the next four years, were spent honing his practice in lawn maintenance, ipm techniques, landscape and hardscape installation. ten additional years of landscape installation and stone masonry have made jonathon a well rounded entity. he wears many hats within the company since he is a landscape technician, stone mason, and best of all, the man who organizes, and oversees each and every job. suzanne is a nc native who also has an associates degree in ornamental and landscape technology. her first 2 years out of high school were spent as a full time student at east carolina university, while working part time for 2 years in the retail nursery industry. once transferred to north carolina state university, she worked in greenhouse production for 2 years. after graduating from ncsu, she gained two additional years experience in landscape, lawn, floriculture installation maintenance, and design. the last three years prior to founding j&s, she gained further knowledge by working as a landscape designer for a locally owned business. over the past ten years as a landscape consultant and designer, she has used these skills to create the perfect package for each customers’ needs.
