JAV Remodeling

I entered into a formal contract with JAV remodeling in late August of 2018. The project was for interior and exterior renovations and as stand with most contract I was required to put down 30% ($70k). JAV remodeling finally broke ground in late October of 2018, after I requested a project kick-off and started with the Master Bath. In November I requested a project timeline and dependencies because they were not making progress. In January, I began digging into the company’s background including the BBB and discovered they have a “F” rating and there is a document case similar to mine as recent as November. I have attempted to contact the own Alex JAV via email, text and by calling but he has not responded in almost 2 months. I have contacted JAV to make it clear that I will be working to terminate the contract and work with every available agency to get my money back. I would not consider working with this company in any copacity and for anyone who is currently associated with JAV remodeling or Alex Jav, proceed with caution. I am writing to ensure that no one else is financial taken advantage of as I have been. In that I respect houzz and it’s mission, I hope that you are able to help other and protect them from JAV. I will be proving a full account of the contract and dealing with DCRA in Washington, DC and I am more than happy to provide additional information. If there is any advice or assistance you can off, I would greatly appreciate it.

JAV McLean remodeled two upstairs bathrooms in our almost- 50-year-old townhouse in 2012. We were very pleased and have very much enjoyed the modern look. In August 2017 we asked JAV to retile/grout a small area and once again the crew did an excellent job! We now expect JAV's beautiful improvements to enhance the value of our home as we put it up for sale.

We cannot more highly recommend Alex and his JAV team. We had a *major* renovation of our first home that was a "fixer upper." We did a full gut and remodel, including installing new kitchen, new bathrooms, laundry, opening up walls, moving doors, etc. JAV helped with everything from permits, to design, to materials selection. It was a major undertaking, so it was helpful having a project manager that was friendly and easy to contact -- yes even text messaging --- so we were kept up to date. We can also vouch that they are very reasonably priced as we interviewed several firms for this project. We were very happy with the quality of work, done on budget and on time. What also stands out about JAV is that they are just good people. They are the kind of company that sends holiday treats to their clients! We enjoyed working with JAV and highly recommend them to anyone looking to do work on their home.

JAV Remodeling provided a estimate to remodel my kitchen. After receiving 3 other estimates I chose to use JAV remodeling for quality of materials, design ideas and timeline for completion provided. We were so very happy with the kitchen project that decided to do our master bathroom also. Loved their workmanship, and flexibility. Their individual workers are very respectful of property and left things clean at the end of each day

Jav Remodeling did a complete remodel of my 1959 era kitchen. They demoed the existing cabinets, pantry and floor and removed the old appliances. They demoed half of a wall that separated my kitchen and dining room to create a knee wall. Installed new sub-floor, ceramic tile, new 42" vanilla creme cabinets, granite counters, new sink and faucet, new recessed, under counter lights and pendant lights, and painted the kitchen. It was a very good experience. Alex met with my wife and I and gave us several pricing options. Based off of these pricing options, he created several designs for us to consider. After picking which design we liked best, they then scheduled to perform the work during a week that worked best for us. They performed the work quickly, efficiently, and it was very good quality. All in all, the work was finished in approximately 8 business days! Anything that I did not like, they changed immediately, Alex and George were extremely responsive and very accommodating to my needs. I have a young baby in the home and they made sure to work around our schedule. In addition, they provided extra features which included pendant lighting and under cabinet lighting for no additional cost. Again, the quality of the work was excellent. I will definitely use Jav Remodeling in the future and I recommend their services to anyone.
