Dear Cathy,

Firstly, I would like to express my disappointment that you feel unsatisfied with our services. I'd like to address the concerns you raised and provide some additional context from our perspective. During the design stage, you had planned for a narrow, long window above the bed head wall. Accordingly, we designed a floating shelf with the understanding that you would request the carpenter to add extra support to the back wall if the window was to be installed. However, you decided against adding the window and did not instruct the carpenter to include the additional support for the floating shelf.

Given that our contractual agreement was limited to the joinery aspect of the project, we installed the shelf without the extra support in the back wall. It was explicitly communicated to you that without the additional support, the floating shelf might not withstand heavy loads. I personally informed you, "as there is no extra support added in the back wall, the floating shelf may not be able to hold heavy items. It is suitable for lightweight objects like plastic Lego, but not for heavier items." This conversation took place prior to installation.

Unfortunately, approximately five months later, you informed me that one of the shelves had fallen off. Upon examining the photos you sent, I discovered that numerous heavy metal prizes had been placed on the shelf, as clearly shown in the pictures. It is important to note that these items far exceeded the shelf's intended load capacity.

In an effort to resolve the issue promptly, I offered to cover the costs of having a carpenter and other tradespeople accompany me to add extra support to the back wall and fix the shelf. Regrettably, you declined my offer and resorted to using offensive language towards me, expressing your intention to write a negative review on social media. Additionally, you misrepresented the items placed on the shelf, claiming they were solely plastic Lego, and exaggerated the potential danger by stating that the shelf could have fallen onto your son's head. However, as clearly depicted in the photo you provided, the shelf is positioned only on the side of the bed, eliminating any possibility of it falling onto the bed.

I want to reiterate that my intention has always been to find a fair and reasonable solution to this matter. I believe your refusal to accept my assistance and resorting to negative online commentary is unjust given the circumstances.
