It gives us great pleasure to provide our highest recommendation to the John McLain Design team. They deserve all the accolades and praise they received from their many clients and colleagues. They guided us from start to finish on every aspect of our top to bottom renovation and remodel of a 1920s bungalow in Mount Dora, FL. We actually contacted John and Heather to help us make the final decision as to whether we would buy what started as a tired old house. Heather and Erica then helped us envision what it could become and guided its transformation to a charming, comfortable home and elevated it with timeless character. Having worked with designers on previous projects elsewhere, we thought we had a good idea about what to expect, but they truly took it to another level and blew us away at our final “reveal”. Their one of a kind thorough, detailed design process combined with their consistent professional, kind, direct, and enthusiastic manner gave us an ease and confidence with their team and work on our behalf. Heather and Erica were exceptional in every way- they listened, presented beautiful options, helped us find our style, kept us from making mistakes, and delivered final results using their incredible design talents. They navigate and work well with all trades, handle challenges, communicate in a timely and effective manner, and maintain the highest level of integrity. We are incredibly grateful to John, Heather, and Erica and will always feel a special connection to them as we enjoy living in the beautiful home they helped us create!

My husband and I have had the pleasure of working with the John McClain Design team on two occasions now for 2 different house projects. We absolutely love this company! Heather and Erica are SUPER talented, organized, timely, detailed, have great communication, and are just overall wonderful gals. They made what is normally an overwhelming process very simplified and easy, which is exactly what we wanted since we're pretty busy folk. They picked out great selections in every aspect of the homes and presented them to us in a very clear way so we could envision the pieces in the houses. They knew what our style was, so this made the decision process a piece of cake. We had such a good experience, that even my mother-in-law was impressed and hired them! Highly recommend this amazing crew!

John McClain Design not only redesigned our entire home from top to bottom, but they also redesigned our life! From a 1970s tract home that left us paralyzed about where to start, we now have incredible, stunningly beautiful spaces and it's so much fun to entertain! Every morning when I go down the stairs I still can't believe it's our house! They are truly a joy to work with, their work is impeccable and the design will stand the test of time. I wish I had another house just so we could work together again!

The team at John McClain Design worked with my family on our large scale home renovation. We purchased a home that was dated but had great potential. John and his team were able to showcase the best parts of our home while also redesigning spaces to speak to us aesthetically. We were even able to add an entirely new room inside the existing walls, thus increasing our usable space. John McClain Design tackled my entire house, from top to bottom. My house was a cookie-cutter 1980's suburban house, with little cohesion or style. To make matters worse, I had no idea what I really wanted or how to make it better. John McLain Design not only gave me my dream house, but they were able to help me see what my style was. Their team is beyond professional. They were fun to work with and made the process so much easier and enjoyable. They have an amazing eye for detail and kept to my budget throughout the process. My house now has life and personality. I have to admit, I dreaded the idea of a remodel. However, John McLain Design not only gave me a home beyond my wildest imagination, but also fantastic memories of our journey to get there (even though Covid hit mid-project). You cannot go wrong with this team, I truly believe John McLain Design is the absolute best in the business.

Having been referred to JMD by our wonderful realtor, Jennifer King, we just completed an extensive remodel on a 1961 home we had recently purchased. For 10 months I worked with John and his team and couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. Heather spent many moments on our project listening to what details I felt were important while yet creating a livable sense of comfort. With our design they used their eye for recognizing all things beautiful and turned an idea into more than one imagined. Heather and John handled every large & small detail right down to the perfect size end tables for the newly reconfigured master bedroom, ordered & delivered stunning hanging globe lamps and suggested throw pillows to freshen up our family room sofa. John is an honest individual and also very easy to work with while being extremely professional. I have, and will continue to recommend John McLain Design.

John McClain is amazing! He helped me and my clueless husband transform a previously useless area in our home to what is now a very functional and gorgeous space. He took extra steps to personally oversee some of the work. He’s also super sweet and easy to work with. Our 2 year old daughter still randomly talks about him weeks since he’s been here! We would highly recommend him and can’t wait to have him tackle the rest our house!

John McClain and his entire team are hands down the best in the business. As a real estate professional myself, I have renovated countless homes. His team made the entire process from beginning to end absolutely seamless and flawless. As any renovation, the project became larger than expected and we couldn't be happier. And as any renovation, my husband and I had different ideas and visions and he was able to navigate that beautifully. The timeline was unrealistic in my opinion yet they were able to pull it off! I was so happy that I've referred him to many of my own clients. As a mother of 5 children with a busy professional schedule they were able to take 100% of the stress off my plate - all I had to do was pick the fun things! I will never use another designer ever! Do not hesitate hiring this firm!!
