John is a top-notch landscape and hardscape designer who was a true pleasure to work with on our multi-faceted exterior project from start to finish. John came to us highly recommended, we liked his portfolio of his prior designs, we were impressed by his knowledge during our consult, and he's cemented himself as our favorite professional to work with to date (and as full disclosure as new homeowners with high standards, we have worked with A LOT of professionals/companies, including carpet/wood floors, drapes, painting, etc.). While we were considering other landscape/hardscape companies for our major outdoor project, we picked Bachman's after meeting John, who blew us away with his knowledge, eye for design, and effective communication and organization style. We would hire John again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend him to anyone. John immediately picked up on our style and aesthetic and created a hardscape and landscape design that reflected our style and made suggestions so that it fit in nicely with the neighborhood and interior design. He also designed our front patio and back deck from start to finish (we actually hadn't planned on redoing our front patio, but we loved the back he designed so much we had him do the front as well). This was a large-scale project, which involved landscaping and hardscaping throughout our entire backyard, front yard, and side yard. John is an effective communicator and we trust him completely (in fact, if John ever expanded to other design areas we would hire him in a heartbeat!). He's been transparent and responsive every step of the way so that we've always been on the same page and there have been no surprises. In addition, all of his cost estimates have proven accurate, which we really appreciate considering the very high cost of this project. I don't typically leave reviews, but our experience with John has been so positive I felt the need to share our positive experience with others. Do yourself a favor and hire John immediately - you won't regret it!

John did a landscape project that included a large garden bed and landscaping in front of our house. We were very happy with the whole process. John was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Bachman’s gave me an approximate start date several weeks before the project, and the project started and ended on time. The crews that worked on the project were excellent. John always responds to email in a timely manner. I had questions before and many after the project, and he is quick to respond. I got John’s name from my brother-in-law and he was very happy with his work also. I would highly recommend John and Bachman’s.

John developed a complete refresh of our planting areas. His design process was patient and collaborative. He followed each step of the project through to completion. We were very happy working with him and have asked him to work on a second project.

John is a great person to work with on a landscaping project. The most important thing is he listened to me. He took what my vision was and implemented it adding great ideas. He sat with me and discussed plant selection giving me options and informing me on the reasons why I may like a certain plant. When I asked for milk weed for butterflies he knew immediately the plants I should have. I have received many complements on the design. I could not afford the entire project at one time so he helped me divide it up into multiple phases that fit within my budget. I look forward to working with him on phase 2.

John is the best! He has helped me with 2 projects and I love how my yard looks. John listens, is extremely professional, has a great depth of knowledge and the work was completed on time. Pleased to have worked with John in the past and look forward to working with him in the future.

We did 2 projects (1916 &1917) with John to redo the shrubs in the front yard. He was WONDERFUL to work with. He provided good information on the plants, and explained positive & negative sides.. We hired John to redesign the landscaping for our entire yard and design and install a patio in our backyard. We wanted to do the majority of the labor in the flower beds ourselves but needed help with design. John came up with a master plan and helped us plan how we would spread out the project over a couple summers. We work full-time and are parents to an infant/toddler, so the work was going to have to be spread out and slow-going. We completed the first half of our yard this year and plan to complete the rest over this next summer. We absolutely love what John designed. The patio he designed and Bachman's installed is gorgeous. It was actually completed ahead of schedule which allowed us to enjoy it the entire summer. The plants John selected are stunning. John has been great to work with. He was able to work with us on ways to keep a fairly large project on a relatively small budget. He has been incredibly patient with us and our slow-moving project. Even though he likely had other bigger projects, we never felt like he didn't have time for us. He met with us a couple times to review plans and select materials, and he kept in contact with us via email throughout our project. He answered our questions along the way and offered guidance and instruction with the DIY part of our project. We feel John has gone above and beyond with regards to the attention he has given us. We would absolutely recommend John to anyone, and we look forward to continuing to work with him for the remainder of our project.
