Kitchens by Design - KBD Home - Custom Drapery

My wife and I were "remodel newbies" when we first started thinking about a bathroom overhaul. What started as a chance encounter stopping by their showroom, ended in an amazing and wonderful new bathroom. More than a few things impressed us about the way KBD works: We just knew we wanted it to be "nice" and that it match our current home's style. KBD's consultants were fantastic in helping us figure out materials, colors, and construction elements that really worked - and improved the value of our home. The craftsmanship was second to none, too. We are continually impressed with every element of the custom installations they provided. Finally, the professionalism (no unnecessary messes at the end of the day!) of everyone from the KBD staff, to their contractors, and adherence to deadlines made it a literally no-stress experience.

Having recently moved into an old, historic home, my husband and I recognized early on the challenges that could come with a complete kitchen renovation. We knew how important it would be to find a team that was committed to our vision, as well as high standards for quality and preservation. We found all that and more with KBD! From inception to completion, Nancy Stanley and Megan Giles were amazing. They are true visionaries, with the ability to execute even the most challenging plans. We quickly realized that we could trust their recommendations implicitly, and they made the process flow seamlessly. Additionally, we couldn’t have been more pleased with their choice for our general contractor (Kenny Cousins). He was thorough and timely, with an attention to detail that exceeded our expectations. Nancy and Megan have also helped with the interior design of our dining room and living room, creating such a beautiful flow from one space to the next. Their talent is evident in everything they do! We are in the process of planning our next major remodeling project (master suite) and never considered using anyone but KBD. We feel so lucky to have found this great team!

Nancy & Suzanne completed my amazing new kitchen on time. Space was utilized optimally. A small 1934 cottage has the perfect 2017 kitchen-beautiful & highly functional.

We recently did a kitchen, bath and dining area renovation with Kitchens by Design. We worked with Nancy Stanley for whom we cannot say enough great things. She is very pleasant to work with and was timely with contacting us or following thru on requests. She also has the "knack" to discern our taste and likes and dislikes and proceed accordingly. We loved everything she presented - the design - the granite options - backsplash - etc. She was also great at working with out budget - meeting deadlines. We also purchased furniture and window treatments thru KBD and Nancy's choices were excellent. I cannot say enough good things about our overall experience with Nancy. She is someone that you can work with and feel complete confidence in and at the same time enjoy the process due to her great attitude. Linda Fendley always greeted us with a smile and was very helpful when our 3 1/2 year grandson accompanied us on visits. Angela Wright was also excellent in working out a very unique design for our former dining room that we wanted to use as a sitting/dining area. And the contractor that we had thru KBD, Kenny Cousins, was steps above any other contractor we had ever worked with. Not only was his work excellent but he was always punctual and brought the project in on the date we set prior to construction. He was so trustworthy we left our home on vacation leaving Kenny in charge. We would highly recommend KBD and Nancy Stanley!

My husband and I hired KBD's Gene Abel to renovate our upstairs bathroom and cannot say enough good things about how beautiful the project turned out! We had some interesting space challenges and Gene worked with us to solve each one, on time and within the budget. It's been two years and my husband and I still walk into the bathroom and pinch ourselves, we are just so pleased with how everything turned out. Wouldn't hesitate to call KBD again for our next project!

I am currently doing my second major project with KBD, this would not have happened if my husband and I weren't extremely pleased with the first project, two years ago. I've known Kristin for years, inasmuch as I hired her an an intern. Kristin's talent was obvious, even back then. Convincing my husband to go with a higher quote was not easy, since Jack judges projects, on the bottom line. What is significantly different about KBD is the disclosure of the smallest details upfront. KBD covers, the functionality of the plumbing, lighting, the heating, the venting, and so many other details. It all comes out with an "Audrey Hepburn Elegance". KBD'S teamwork is second to none. Lisa and Kristen have formed a company that reflects their values and their commitment to their customers. They set an exceedingly high standard for themselves and manage to meet it every time, in my humble opinion. KBD schedules its projects out. This works for me, as well as the sub-contractors. As for the people that have come into my home; they are respectful, they do not smoke in my home, and, they clean-up before they leave. I'm very pleased with the quality of work performed. Additionally, Lisa comes by every morning to get the guys started. KDB's check and balance system works. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending KBD for your home project. Let me give you an example of a detail when they did my master bathroom. I was very specific about wanting a place for my shampoo, cream rinse and other small items. Not only did I get that, but I got a surprise, lol! I see another "box" down below, exactly like the one I requested. When I asked what it was, thinking they made a mistake, I was told, "Well, we put that there so you don't see the ugly bottles when you walk into the bathroom"! HAHAHA "ALWAYS BY DESIGN" Their detail is what's important to me. I am sure there are other companies out there that are good, but I assure you, I am an extremely detailed person and KBD manages to anticipate my needs, and guide me in the right direction. I also applaud their investment in a local showroom!!! Very few designers seem to have that today.

I would not consider a remodel to be "fun" but working with Gene Abel was delightful and enjoyable. He was creative and fabulous with understanding my style preferences. He repeatedly "hit the bullseye" with his ideas for our home. Thanks Gene!

A total remodel of kitchen and one bathroom as well as partial remodel of master bath. KBD provided design and complete execution of the project. We are delighted with both creativity of design and the quality of the construction. The most impressive part of our experience was the professionalism of everyone we worked with. Flawless project management resulted in the job being completed days before schedule. Workers respected our property and were highly skilled. We were kept informed of each step in the process. Minor adjustments post delivery were taken care of instantly. Our recommendation is completely positive.

We went to Kristin Okeley and Kitchen by Design for a remodel design on our master bath. She said she couldn't put everything we wanted into our present designated area. Her new design was better than we could have ever imagined. She had moved a wall a few feet out and changed the doorway. Everything from the flooring to cabinetry to lighting was perfect. She really listened to our wants. Lisa Stites was our project manager and kept everything moving as smooth as possible. We had a few bumps in the road but the communication was tremendous. Not only did Kristin and Lisa stand out but so did the whole company. Great people and highly recommended!!!

Nancy Stanley of KBD, Indianapolis, helped my husband and me update our kitchen. She visited our home and quickly identified the problem that our kitchen was much more casual (and dark) than the rest of our home. With her guidance, we replaced the appliances, countertops, lighting, sinks and backsplash. She helped us select a granite countertop that complemented and greatly enhanced our existing cabinets. We're very pleased with the finished product. Nancy was easy to work with and facilitated the project so that it got done in a timely manner.

KBD guided us from start to finish over a 3-year project. First in doing a complete remodel of our existing home (which we decided to sell and start from scratch with a new home) and then through the design of our dream home. It is truly fantastic. We simply started from a hardwood floor sample and they designed the rest of our 5000 sq ft home around that. Their choices in cabinets, finishes, and right down to the minor details were spot-on with our style. We couldn't be any happier.

Nancy Stanley was a great help to us in our bathroom remodeling project. Her eye for wall color was incredible, as was her skill designing a built-in cabinet that is absolutely beautiful and functional.
