Had exact same experience as last review from T.Wilkins. Mark was rude and dismissive of me, spoke mostly to my husband and at one point reprimanded me to put my iPad away. We have moved on.

While I cannot speak to their work, I can tell you that I was absolutely horrified by the consultation. Mark wore a face shield (not a mask), which has been proven ineffective. The entire time he was in our home, he was reaching under it to touch his face and rub his nose before touching everything in our home. He never washed his hands. That would be enough on its own, but it gets worse. The renovation he was consulting on was my project. My idea. Something I had researched and planned because I wanted it. Yet Mark would only speak to my husband. Even when I asked questions, he wouldn't look at me, but would give the answer to my husband. It was infuriating. To really round it out, Mark couldn't have been more rude about the fact that we have pets. What do you expect when you come to someone's home? People have pets! Our dogs were outside and Mark was still openly livid. Every time one barked (because he wanted inside), Mark would comment on it. He also made several comments about us needing to "keep them out of his way when the job starts". He never even SAW a dog at our home because THEY WERE OUT OF THE WAY. Obviously, we went with someone else. It's hard to believe that someone can still be so rude to women in 2020. And it's more than a little ridiculous that someone who makes their living by going to people's homes would be rude about pets.

Outstanding planning, design, and implementation! We appreciated that Mark Kresge and his experienced team listened carefully, followed our budget requirements, and built a beautiful and practical kitchen with craftsmanship and care and ahead of schedule. Highly professional, skilled and ethical. We highly recommend!

Very friendly and professional. Very good communication. Work was of high quality. Looks great! Lots of compliments. Bring your own creativity to design process; otherwise, little out-of-the box originality. Watch for attention to detail. Good budget guidance, though. I can highly recommend them. I will be doing a large upstairs project in 2020, and Kresge will be on the list. They do work on their own timetable, though -- projected completion mid-October, finished early-December.

Kresge helped us renovate our first floor which included a kitchen overhaul and wall removal. From start to finish, Mark, Andy and the entire Kresge team were absolutely fantastic. The process was transparent and easy. And, the end result is more than we could have asked for! The product is of solid construction and beautiful! We have had so many compliments on the transformation, and we can not recommend Kresge Contracting enough!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Kresge built an addition on our home with a bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet/laundry room. What a great experience working with those folks. Their work was of the highest quality, and the project manager was always there to oversee all work that was done. They were neat, kind, and friendly, and the best part was they finished earlier than expected. When we wanted changes made, it was no problem. An excellent company to do any rennovation to your home. A BIG recommendation from us. You couldn't find a better company for this type of work.

We used Kresge for the remodel of our kitchen which included the removal of two walls and replacement of flooring throughout the first floor of our house. We enjoyed working with Mark and his team throughout the entire process from design to project completion. Everyone was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful, which is why we highly recommend them to our family, neighbors and friends in Columbus. Our project manager Kevin was exceptional during the extensive remodel. He caught an issue with the installation of our replacement windows which was causing water damage. This was completely unrelated to his work, but he brought to our attention and helped us understand what needed to be done. Kevin kept us informed and reached out timely to communicate any concerns or to ask for our preferences. Overall Kresge Contracting can be trusted to produce quality results for home remodel projects.

We can highly recommend Kresge! They worked well with us to install a beautiful new kitchen, laundry and bath, as well as opening up several interior walls, applying drywall over old flimsy paneling, and updating our electric panel and fixtures. Mostly we love the new hickory flooring installed throughout the hall, kitchen, dining, family, and living rooms as well as the tile flooring in the laundry and powder room. A beautiful cedar plank wall was also installed on the exterior kitchen wall in our screened porch area. Everyone was delightful to work with, on time and the workmanship was excellent. This was a sizeable project that we kept adding to, we appreciate that they were patient and accommodating. We hope to work with them again in the near future!

Kitchen remodel and replacement of main floor flooring. The Kresge team was professional and cordial. They were attentive to details, very good at problem-solving any issues that they encountered, and ensured our satisfaction by involving us in decision-making along the way. Minor flooring creaks had been the only problem we’d noticed since completion and Kresge remedied this quickly. We love our new kitchen’s design and functionality!

Kresge Contracting has completed three remodeling projects for us over the past 10 years. In 2007, Kresge added a two story addition, with a three season-room as the second floor. My wife calls it the "tree house" because of the view. Kevin Hittepole was the project manager for this project and our most recent project, a complete kitchen remodel. Not only does Kevin do incredible work, he is honest to a fault. We trust him implicitly. Kresge uses computer simulations, so the graphic that they prepared for looked remarkably like the final product. Mark Kresge estimated a three-month timeline for completion, but finished a few weeks short of that. If you are considering remodeling your home, I highly recommend at least getting an estimate from Kresge. Their work is very high quality at a reasonable price. While they were here, we had them rebuild two of our decks using Trex (non-wood material) and they both look terrific. The cost of the decks was approximately $12,000, which is not included in the approximate project cost below. This number is just for the kitchen remodel, excluding the cost of new appliances. The picture posted below shows the new microwave on the countertop. It is actually hanging below the cabinet in the open space above it.

Gearhart Kitchen Remodel (April – July 2017) Up until I retired in 2016, my husband and I lived with our small, cave like kitchen. I had made comments over the years about updating it but wasn’t until I retired and we were tripping over each other that he acknowledged the wisdom of a new floor plan. Once we decided to remodel the kitchen of our 1923 home we called Kresge Contracting about the project. They renovated our upstairs bathroom and installed a second one on our main floor three years ago and we were very pleased with the outcome of the project. Mark Kresge (company president) responded in a timely manner and we had a meeting to discuss design options for the kitchen. Once Mark understood our “wants and needs” he designed our new kitchen. He also knows to ask the right questions – such as “how is your comfort on the upper floor?” Per Mark, “It is easier to make these kinds of modifications when the walls are open.” In the process of construction, a second cold air return was installed on our upper floor, which has made it easier to cool and much more comfortable. The remodel not only required the gutting of the existing kitchen but also the removal of the wall between the kitchen and dining room. Since our house is old, the question of lead paint and asbestos needed to be addressed. Lucky for us, our house does not contain lead paint, however we did need to deal with asbestos removal on the heating duct in the demolished wall. Kresge takes environmental hazard issues seriously and has been trained to identify and address them in an appropriate manner. Andy L. (our project manager) was timely, courteous and really knows his job. He has excellent communication and organizational skills, which were evident in the smooth flow of the renovation. We were told the job would take about 12 weeks and Andy ensured that the schedule was followed. He kept us informed of the “who, what, where and what time” during the course of the project. Problems were dealt with in a timely manner and to our satisfaction. The personnel that performed the work were knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. My husband and I never felt uncomfortable with any of the contractors or subcontractors and in fact we had some very interesting conversations. We absolutely love our newly remodeled kitchen; it is open, clean and bright. The new layout is easy for us to navigate without tripping over each other and there are no more inaccessible cave-like lower cabinets or wasted space (especially over the cabinets – no more nasty, dirty cabinet tops to clean!!)

We just completed a kitchen renovation with Kresge Contracting. The renovation involved reconstruction of a kitchen island, moving an island stove to a counter location, new island cabinets, new countertops, matched staining of woodwork to match existing cabinets and rerouting the oven exhaust, including drywall and ceiling repair work. From Mark Kresge (owner and designer) to Kevin Hittepole (construction manager), Abbie (design consultant) and other team members, we could not be happier with the work performed, attention to detail, care of work area including cleaning up daily, protection of existing cabinets and other areas, professionalism was top notch and experience of the work crew and design team was EXACTLY what we were looking for. No detail was left unexplored or unfinished and the work was completed in the time frame we agreed upon, even over the holidays. We love our new space and Mark and his team captured our desires with practical solutions to make this the space we needed for our family. I cannot provided a higher recommendation for this team and business. We are now planning additional future work with this team in the coming years to continue to update, add value to our home and make the practical changes that work with our family in our home.
