Kevin Lang and the Denton team have built multiple projects for us in Manhattan Beach. Kevin is a gifted communicator, a thoughtful service-provider, a master scheduler, and a technical genius. His homes perform at a level that is nearly unmatched in the Southbay. His Gantt charts are the best I've seen. His knowledge of passive ventilation and thermal insulation result in some of the healthiest homes. I love recommending Denton to my clients. Kevin is an exceptional general contractor but also an artist! Every part of the project he touched got better. It turned into a highly collaborative process with our architect with amazing results we are thrilled with. He brought to the table a bunch of creative ideas to problems from how to effectively cool our home without A/C (not a common request!) to where to hide our pool vault and water filtration system. He also lovingly cared for the mature trees on our property that we were quite attached to and wanted preserved throughout the project despite them being very much in the way. They all survived! He also brought in amazing craftsmen for our custom cabinetry throughout the home. We loved working with Kevin and would definitely work with him on future projects (unnecessary as he built us our life home / dream home :)). Highly recommend!!!

We hired Denton Developments for new construction on the Avenues in Redondo Beach. His bid came in lower than others AND he said he could complete the build in 12 months. We were very skeptical because this was our second new build and the first took over 2 years (specs almost identical). Well Denton completed our build in 13 months (in 2015)! This is really unheard of. Our home is over 4500 sq ft with a basement and swimming pool on a 6500 sq ft lot. After the build was completed, Kevin was very good about coming back to take care of punch list items that come up after you move in and get settled a bit. In case you’re wondering why we rated Denton 4 and not 5 stars, we probably would not give anyone 5 stars as there’s always room to improve in this field. However, we would recommend Denton Developments and hire them again (if they would work with us). We did not have a budget for a decorator but Kevin was pretty good with ideas and worked with people who really helped us tie everything together. Fun Fact: We sold our home a year after the build and ended up buying it back 2 years later because we found we missed it so much. Denton built us a great house! Thank you!

We hired Kevin Lang at Denton Developments to remodel the kitchen, family room and living room in our 1950s ranch house. Everything was badly outdated and way overdue for a face lift. Kevin opened up the space, knocking out walls and vaulting the ceilings, to give us a contemporary, open look. He also gave us excellent ideas for materials, fixtures and appliances. It's been like having a new home. Whenever we entertain, people comment on how beautiful the house is. Before the remodel, we rarely entertained because we were too embarrassed for people to see the house! In addition, the project was substantially completed in about two months' time -- a lot less than the time frames quoted by other contractors that we interviewed. Kevin was very efficient at scheduling work crews. My husband and I have recommended Denton Developments to several people and will continue to do so.

Denton Developments has been fabulous in assisting with our 3,000, $M+ residential home build. Not only is the owner HONEST, he is also budget conscious. He is going to give you the reality of the costs to build in the beach area, and not give you an unrealistic cost. So where one builder had quoted us a cost at significantly less, Denton could account for a more realistic view of the same build. When we really interviewed the other contractor, we found flaws in his quote. His knowledge of dealing with the city and his ability to problem solve were great...because there are always problems! Finally, the best recommendation I can give came from another friend that DIDN'T hire Denton. They hired them in the design/architect phase, but then went with another builder because they were half the cost. Well they said halfway through their build we made the right decision, because they are finding out the "real" cost to build was exactly what Denton quoted. What we have found is that honesty and trust in your contractor has been the most important part of our building process, plus it helps that Denton is a perfectionist!
