Matthew James Kitchens was established in 2003. Prior to this, the owner, Matt, worked for a company specialising in Corian worktops. As part of this role, Matt was up and down the country templating and installing Corian worktops in high-end kitchens, which inspired Matt to set up his own business. Matt began working from home where he would design and then install kitchens, also fitting for a couple of local firms. Having built a good reputation for the standard of his work and a reliable team of tradesmen, in 2017 Matt decided that it was time to open a showroom. As part of this move his partner Jo started working alongside him helping with finance and administration, and now importantly social media marketing and website maintenance. We will work with you to create your dream kitchen. The steps below outline the process from start to finish. Initial Contact. Maybe we have been recommended to you or you have found our website and like what you have seen and heard. The next step is for us to get to know you and your style. You can either meet with us at the showroom or if you would prefer we can meet with you at your home. At this point, we can get an idea of what you are looking for, how you live your life and how your new kitchen can be designed to enhance this within a budget that works for you. After visiting you at your house to get exact measurements and to get a better feel for what you want, we will now produce a design concept and costs. Design Consultation We will now meet with you at the showroom to present your kitchen design. This will be done on a large screen in the showroom using Computer Aided Design that will show you 3-dimensional visuals. At this point, we will discuss the design and costs and look at any changes that you would like to be made. Further Consultation If needed we will meet with you again at your home or at the showroom to finalise design amendments and costs. Order Confirmation Once the final plan is agreed and a date arranged for installation to commence, we will produce a schedule of works so that you know what will happen at each stage. At this point, a 25% deposit is required. Installation All of the decisions have been made and now it’s time for our experienced team of professionals to come in and do their part of the job, overseen by Matt, to achieve a successful completion on schedule. Matthew designed, supplied and installed my kitchen in August 2020 and it exceeded my expectation. I am extremely grateful for the quality of work that was done. My entire family love the kitchen. The work is done to perfection. From beginning to end Matthew has demonstrated himself as someone who is reliable, reasonable, punctual and approachable. He was willing to adjust his price on a number of occasion to match my budget. The work he puts in prior to me making a decision was one of the main reason I used him. Matthew never pressured me and always avail himself to answer any questions I might have. From the beginning to the end he would keep me updated. The workmen Matthew used are also highly skilled and perform their task to a very high standard. I would definitely use Matthew in the future and can recommend him without a second thought. If you are looking for someone to do a highly skilled work at a reasonable price then choose Matthew James Kitchen you will not regret it.

We were introduced to Matt by our builder during a major renovation of our home to create a new kitchen/dining space and update to our utility room. Matt came and visited us at home to talk through our architect’s plans and what we wanted. We then visited his new showroom in Bromsgrove on a couple of occasions to discuss final finishes and layout. We were really impressed by Matt’s commitment to our vision and the fact he went to the effort of sourcing a particular Formica/birch ply worktop for the utility and dining areas. We had already sourced most of our appliances and the kitchen worktops elsewhere but Matt supplied our extractor fan and utility sink/tap from well known manufacturers. We decided on a handleless kitchen made by Burbidge Kitchens. The quality is good and it compliments well the concrete work surfaces. Our budget wasn’t limitless but we are really pleased with the finished result. Matt made every effort to fit around our builder’s tight schedule with the minimum of fuss. He responded swiftly to enquiries and dealt promptly with snagging issues. The fact he is a thoroughly pleasant chap made working with him all the more pleasurable. We would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family and know he is now working with our architect on a number of other projects in the area.

When Matthew designed and installed our dream kitchen nothing was too much trouble. His CAD design layout was miles ahead of the others we received and he was also able to introduce us to products like Parapan Doors which no-one else seemed to offer. The finished kitchen came within budget and actually exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for a new kitchen I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you give Matthew a ring, you will not be disappointed.

Mathew designed our new kitchen and acted as project manager. The project involved a large kitchen and utility room. It involved stripping back to brickwork and taking down the ceiling to allow for the installation of a new ring main, lighting circuits and new plumbing. A new floor was also required. The design had to work around our Aga which could not be moved. Matt spent time discussing design options and providing examples of units, doors and finishes. We accepted his advice on the overall design. He arranged for us to visit the granite supplier to select the work surface. The project started on time and ran to the predicted schedule. Inevitably there were some complications but Matt was on hand to keep the project on schedule. His selected teams of electricians, plasterers, fitters and other trades all provided an excellent service and had clearly worked together before. We were sufficiently confident to go away on holiday for most of the project! We made some minor additions to the scope of the project which Matt accommodated without any problems. We are delighted with the final product and importantly the overall project cost was as estimated. Throughout the project, and after completion dealing with some minor defects, Matt was always available and often at short notice. He is friendly but efficient and clearly takes a pride in delivering a first class service. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

We had our kitchen fitted in November 2018, we opened up the kitchen and study which meant walls being taken down, and others moved. All the tradesmen used were first class, and really nice guys. The work went very smoothly and on the allocated time scale. The kitchen unit were high quality and we are extremely happy with end result. We saw the units in the new showroom, which was only just completed. This was brilliant to see and very professional. Matthew was really good showing us his ideas and designs and explaining the process and costs all the way through. A very good professional company, can't recommend them highly enough.

I was looking for someone to provide a quality design for a kitchen refurbishment and also to coordinate the planning and build of the project. The work entailed the removal of the existing kitchen units, the wall tiles, existing floor, and knocking down a wall to create a kitchen diner. In addition we wanted to convert an unused shower room into an enclosed washing machine/utility storage unit. Matt spent some considerable time discussing numerous options and providing many solutions - in fact the final design was one that I had never even considered, yet it works perfectly. After agreeing on the design Matt incredibly managed to propose a very quick turnaround and work began almost immediately. All of this work was done in just under 3 weeks. I was impressed with professional hard-working attitude of all of the contractors. During this period Matt was checking in almost daily to follow the progress and deal with any problems. The final kitchen and utility area was completed to such a fantastic quality - there's no way I could have managed this type of project myself and delivered an amazing result. Thanks again Matt!

When I decided to change my kitchen I found Matt on a Google search and read so many good reviews about him that I didn't hesitate to make contact. The fact that he was local to me also a comfort. I didn't have much of a plan of what I wanted other than my kitchen needed modernising but Matt was full of good ideas and got me some excellent quality units and integrated appliances too. My kitchen is small but everyone remarks on how beautiful it is! So pleased! I would recommend Matt in an instant!

Matt did our kitchen for us after a header tank flood ruined the house. He was fantastic from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and he helped us every step of the way with suggestions. Not only is he a lovely man, he has an eye for detail and takes great pride in his work. He left the kitchen area tidy at all times during the installation and a year on (apologies for the late review) we have had no problems at all. The only slight problem we had with the extractor was fixed quickly and no one was at fault. I have and will, recommend him to anyone who needs a kitchen designed and fitted.
