Highly recommend May Construction from beginning to end! From the time we meet with Greg ( Owner ) to the time job was completed it was a great experience. Subs were awesome and work was done in allotted time frame. on time and on budget! We love the results and it was money well spent.

We have had May Construction work for us 5 times in both our home and business. What is impressive is that in all 5 we started and finished when projected. The work was excellent. In all things, the planning process was critical and Greg worked with us on all elements and changes that we requested so that when we initiated the project work went smoothly, materials were on time and to specs, and the finished result was excellent, both in our personal home and in our business.

As promised in my first review, we hired May Construction again to remodel all 3 of our bathrooms. Yet again, they did a marvelous job! They are extremely trustworthy, thorough, and care deeply about the client being happy with every detail. They worked with us to design a schedule that work would for us since we were living in the house through renovation, and delivered the project on time and on budget yet again. I can't say enough great things about them. I've already recommended them to friends, and love knowing that I have a trustworthy contractor I can reach out to for future projects. Wow! That's the first word that comes out of every person's mouth when they first walk into our completely remodeled home. And that's a perfect testament to the fantastic job that May Construction did on every aspect of our project. We liked the idea of using a design-and-build company -- an all-inclusive one-stop shop, essentially, to avoid the potential conflicts between an architect and contractor which we'd experienced in the past. We were impressed with Greg May when we first met with him and it was an easy decision to go with his company after speaking with several references -- recent customers who all raved about them and their work, all saying the same positive things. May Construction lived up to all the features and benefits which they advertise. They are very organized and their system is designed to minimize the typical problems which arise during most remodels. They give you a reasonably accurate estimate of the time frame and cost of your project, they stick to the schedule, and they work with you to control additional costs. They provide a skilled designer and a list of preferred vendors to help you choose products and materials and ensure that you make your choices well in advance to avoid delays in the future. In my opinion, the very best thing about them, though, is the high quality of the workmanship, primarily due to the expertise of all the subcontractors they use. All of those professionals -- the framers, the plumber, the electrician, the HVAC, the tile guy, the cabinet-maker, flooring installers, drywall guys, painter, etc. -- ALL of them were simply top-notch, outstanding craftspeople who did beautiful work. The May team's onsite personnel also did great work, for their part, and did a good job of supervising and coordinating the subcontractors. The entire job (a whole-home remodel) went incredibly smoothly and they actually finished a month ahead of schedule, which is absolutely unheard of! And without cutting corners or sacrificing quality. May Construction's excellent reputation is well-deserved and I highly recommend them.

Typically when you talk to people who have gone through a renovation, you hear nothing but horror stories with projects going over budget, well over schedule, and not delivering on their promises. Rarely do you hear people say we love our contractor but we are here to say we love our contractor. The May Team met and exceeded our goals for our whole home remodel while still staying on schedule, on budget, and providing professional and courteous service throughout the entire process. Prior to selecting May Construction, we interviewed other design build firms prior to selecting May Construction but we knew after speaking with Greg May, that we wanted to go with them. Greg listened to our wish lists and our needs and provided thoughtful feedback but never said something was too difficult or pushed back. We could tell from the beginning that May stood by their work too. When we asked for references, they didn’t hesitate to provide us previous clients to speak with. Once we selected May, we went through the design and planning process. As part of May’s process, we selected all the materials prior to the project start which allowed May’s team to stay on schedule because they are not waiting on materials. May Construction provided excellent companies to work with in order to source the materials needed to match our design. During the design phase, The May Team brought in engineers and other specialities to evaluate our property. This allowed May Construction to develop blueprints and plans for easier city permit approval. In the weeks leading up to the start of construction, we were given a detailed scheduled which listed out the weekly goals and a cost breakdown by category. The May Team even sent out letters to our neighbors informing them of the project. Once construction got underway, we were furthered impressed by May’s team. Our Project Manager, Eric, and Foreman, Troy, were onsite nearly everyday to oversee the construction and keep it on schedule. We appreciated Eric’s attention to detail throughout the project and emphasis on quality. Troy was excellent in managing the sub-contractors and trades. The May Construction process involves weekly meetings and they are extremely valuable to ensure we were on the same page and every detail was ironed out. If we had any unexpected problems during construction, Eric and Troy would provide a thorough explanation of the problem and offered solutions. If we ever do another remodel, we wouldn’t hesitate calling May Construction again. The May Team and their sub-contractors stand by the work and take pride in their craft. We could not have asked for a better company than May because they gave us our dream home.

In retrospect, our house was already a little outdated when we bought it in 2003. It wasn't until the shelter in place order and working from home that we decided to embark on a remodel. We were concerned about some of the stories we heard about contractors. Luckily for us, we saw recommendations for May Construction on Nextdoor. After chatting with Donna, I knew right away that this was someone that I could trust. We had a call with Donna and Greg virtually, as it was the height of Covid, and was very impressed with their vision and thoughts on our plans to remodel our kitchen, paint & add crown moulding to the living and dining rooms, and, finally, un-1970's the wall texture. We had the pleasure of working with Eric as our Project Manager, plus Troy and Bill throughout our project. We stayed on track, on budget and are thrilled with the results. They were always on time, left our house clean every night and followed covid protocols at all times. An appreciated touch was prior to starting, they mailed our neighbors to let them know that during the construction they'll be diligent to minimize the disruption. Their recommended subs were great. I was working from home, alone with the workers and always felt safe. As a female, this was soooo very important. Our only regret is that we didn't go with them for the design work. I wasn't familiar with the meaning of design build and thought we should go in a different direction for the design. We are thrilled with the renovation May Construction did on our home! Their ability to do both design and build made the entire experience move forward smoothly and enjoyably. When we were faced with factors or surprises outside of everyone's control, the May team was always prepared with solutions or options. May Construction is extremely organized and professional; they walked us through the product selection process according to a pre-planned schedule, which ensured that all of our products were available at the time they were needed for installation. They also impressively stuck to the renovation schedule: from the time that construction began, the project moved along quickly. There were always people on site working on the house and we were impressed at how tidy the renovation site was left on weekends and how pristine the house was when we moved back in. Now that we are back in our (new!) home, we appreciate the high quality with which the work was done and are truly enjoying being back in our beautifully renovated space. May Construction was familiar to us before we even thought about starting our project. We had seen their previous work and knew this was the company we would use to help us create our forever home. From the first day they really listened to every conversation we had and drew up plans that exceeded our expectations. After that the May Construction Team took care of all stages of the renovation. It was so liberating to be able to trust the team with bringing our vision to life. They stuck very closely to their schedule and we had weekly meetings to stay informed of progress. The team at May Construction is absolutely amazing. My husband and I did a fairly major renovation (removing load bearing walls, completely gutting and changing the layout of the kitchen, new floors throughout 1st floor, removing and replacing windows, adding a skylight, and more!). I'm sure you've heard contractor horror stories as we had, but I can very happily let you know that you're safe from those nightmares with the team at May! Every person at May treated our home and the job as if it were happening in their own home, with the utmost care and attention to detail. Greg (the owner) did a fantastic job explaining the process up front, and making sure we were well-informed on budget, timeline, and expectations before we got started. Our project manager, Bill, was the absolute BEST. I cannot overemphasize how incredible he was to work with. Throughout our project, he kept us extremely well informed, was consistently present onsite, and managed the subs (who were also all great!) extremely effectively. He was ALWAYS easy to reach (even when I had to call him after-hours and on the weekend) and constantly pushing for efficiency AND quality on our project. He was clearly very knowledgeable and was always able to give us fantastic advice on decisions when we needed it. Not to mention, he was just extremely pleasant to work with. Our project came in on budget and on time (actually slightly early!). I cannot recommend May Construction enough. In fact, we loved them so much we're already planning our next remodel with them for our bathrooms!

Our relationship with May Construction started in 1993 when we bought our current home in San Jose. We needed to remodel our kitchen and May Construction was highly recommended. At that time, Greg May’s father, Tex, was at the helm. We were extremely happy with the remodel and enjoyed our beautiful kitchen for the next 27 years! Fast forward to 2020, we were ready for another kitchen remodel! We were thrilled to learn that May Construction was still in business and thriving! Existing kitchen was taken down to studs and replaced with new plumbing, electrical, and cabinetry. An island and built-in hutch were added. A pantry was built in the kitchen that utilized space from the shared laundry room wall to create pull outs without impeding on the kitchen space. New cabinets and flooring were also added to the laundry room. Our existing skylight was updated with an operable vented window and shade. Recessed rope lighting was added to give a modern look with cool ambiance. Prior to start date, we were provided a detailed calendar of work to be done which was seamlessly followed. May Construction has excellent relationships with all their subcontractors. This close relationship creates a positive working environment and pride in the work completed by all. Our project was completed on time with punch list items addressed to perfection. We worked with some amazing team members from May Construction! Donna, Designer/ Project Coordinator, was truly amazing and pleasant to work with. Donna was creative and thoughtful when helping us design our space. She guided us through selections and kept us on target so that the timeline of the remodel went smoothly. Donna was always available to offer suggestions and moral support when selecting and finalizing our selections. Bill, our Project Manager, was absolutely outstanding! His overall knowledge of “everything” regarding construction was very impressive. He was ALWAYS available via text, phone, or email. We selected May Construction to do our Whole Home Remodel and Addition after carefully evaluating several other contractors. Their high quality work, reputation and experience with their clients was an important factor for us as this would be our forever home for our growing family. Bill, our Project Manager, kept us informed of the progress on a daily/weekly basis and made us feel comfortable with the work being done. May Construction did a great job on our living room and master bathroom remodel. Greg’s personal walkthrough right at the beginning really helped us figure out what we wanted to do. Then his design staff turned ideas into 3D renderings which gave us an accurate visual of what things would look like. We choose May Construction to remodel our home in Almaden in 2019 and we are delighted with the results! From our introductory meeting with Greg May through completion of the remodel, we found the team to be excellent to partner with. We had a fantastic experience with May Construction. We started our project with design in May 2018 and moved into our newly remodeled home in March 2019. We had been stuck on design ideas for years, becoming overwhelmed, but Greg and the design team came in and made fantastic suggestions. The project came in on time and on budget. We did make several changes through the project, and they were flexible and helped to make sure we were within the budget. Each and every person that worked on our house were polite, and professional. They use quality materials, and focus on making sure we were happy and hung with us through the entire punch list. It isn't very common to end a project happy with your GC company, but we feel that not only did we get a beautiful new living space, but friends in the process! Project Overview We hired May Construction (May) in Spring 2017 based on a referral from family friends. May completed an extensive remodel on their home in Los Altos and we were impressed with their work. Our remodel consisted of a total interior remodel requiring a tear down to the framing. Design Process (~1 year) We met with Greg May initially to convey our needs and to get an idea of approximate costs. After meeting with Greg, our project was in the hands of May designer Liz Williams. We went through a detailed process with Liz who designed the space to accommodate our uncommon living arrangements. Liz was great to work with due to her knowledge, thoroughness, and professionalism. We didn't quite know what we wanted in the remodel, but she asked all the right questions to guide us to a final product. Another daunting task for us was choosing all the materials from flooring to drawer/cabinet pulls. May works with preferred vendors which helped a great deal. You are in no way required to use the ones they recommend, but we generally stuck with them and it helped facilitate the process as they are all familiar with May. Build Process (~6 months) Prior to the start of actual work, all contractors associated with the project met with the May team and us to go over all the work to be completed on the house from the demolition team to the painters. Bill Pieper and Eric Preusch were the assigned project leads and made sure things moved forward in a timely manner. They were extremely knowledgeable and meticulous ensuring things got done correctly. At least one (or more) of the sub-contractors (or May employees) were working on the house Monday thru Friday (and once in a while Saturday) with Bill and Eric overseeing much of the work. There were a few things that didn't go according to plan, but they worked diligently to get it done as we expected. We had frequent meetings with Bill and Eric regarding the status of the build and felt well informed at all times. We should also mention that we thought very highly of Ron, Troy, and Dan, all part of the May team. Project Schedule and Estimate Just after the design phase, May provided us with a detailed project schedule and estimate. Based on stories we had heard from several friends and family members we were expecting to go over the projected schedule by several weeks, or even months. However, our project ended up being completed just one week past the original estimated completion date (An important thing to note is that May made it very clear that as long as we made product selections on time it would help keep our project on schedule.). The initial cost estimate range was very accurate with the final cost ending right in the middle. We were kept well informed of any cost increases/decreases. Final Thoughts Although we had never been through this process before, we feel that things went smoothly and are extremely happy with the final product. While we do not plan on going through another remodel in the near future, we would certainly choose to work with May again and have already recommended them to friends. We selected May Construction to do an add-on and remodel of our kitchen and master bedroom/bathroom. This was not our first project so we knew what we were looking for in selecting a partner for the project. My wife and I are tough customers as we are both highly driven, detailed-oriented and organized. What we wanted in an design-build firm was a company that delivered a detailed plan that included timeline and financial commitments that we could count on, in addition to a high-quality end product. May Construction delivered just that. Before the project began, we had a detailed timeline and budget and our expectation was that they would hold to both. May stayed on time and on budget throughout. Bill and his team on-site were pleasant and professional, the office team was service and detailed oriented, and the Greg and Debbie were always available to us if we felt we need to escalate something or just needed to vent. The results are beautiful and the process was as painless as a remodel can be. We’re very pleased to be done with our home (for now) but if we had the need, calling May would be an easy decision.

We hired May Construction for a major kitchen remodel in 2013. Getting the design correct to meet our needs was a huge priority. Once we settled on the work, we received a detailed summary of costs & schedule of the work to be done (including when no work would be done because of inspections). We were sent to choose and purchase all materials & items before any demo began. Once all items were received, the work began and flowed beautifully. Each vendor we visited was very nice and had high quality craftmanship. While no one enjoys living through a remodel, the workers who came though were polite, respectful, and thorough and we love the finished project.

After talking with several friends about their remodel experiences and screening many different design/build firms, we decided to go with May Construction for our whole-house remodel and addition work. Although these kinds of efforts are often stress-filled, over budget and take much longer than expected, we had no such issues with May. Everything they did for us scrupulously managed in terms of both time and budget and that attention to detail was reflected in all aspects of their work. We found every May employee with whom we worked - from the front office to the people working on-site - to be professional, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and primarily interested in doing high-quality work. Their focus was always on what WE wanted - and not what they thought we wanted or what would be the most convenient thing for them. We love the results of the work that May Construction did for us and we have had any number of comments from friends, relatives and neighbors who have seen the results of their work about how impressed they are. May Construction built our beautiful chiropractic office from the ground up. May Construction's work is high quality. Greg May, the owner, is a man of integrity that does what he says he is going to do. The project was on time and within budget, and the customer service was excellent. The company is very professional with weekly meetings at the job site, and the minutes sent out via email to all involved. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this construction company, and I will definitely use them again in the future.

May Construction remodeled our kitchen and dining room area. The project entailed a complete gutting of the kitchen down to the studs, and then a rebuild that included plumbing, electrical, all new cabinets and appliances, a hardwood floor, granite countertops, decorative mosaic and tile backsplash, and paint. This company was outstanding to work with, as exemplified by their performance on things that mattered most to us: 1)Project cost. With May Construction’s “Design-to-Build” process, we worked with them to plan the detailed features and layout for the new kitchen area before construction began. This enabled us to make informed choices to define a project that fit within our budget before we signed the contract. Ultimately, our project cost rose less than 2% from start to finish, with most of that being minor changes we made as construction progressed. 2)Schedule. We lived in the home during the construction, and it was important for us to know who would be there when. It was also important to get the kitchen back and usable as quickly as possible. As a result of the Design-to-Build process, May Construction was able to lay out a day-by-day schedule that would have the construction complete within 10 weeks. We knew every day who would be at the house and what task they were there to complete. And they stuck to it -- we were back using the completed kitchen in 10 weeks, as scheduled. 3)Quality of Work. This was an investment in our home. We wanted the job done right. May’s site managers, Bill and Eric, coordinated and supervised the competent subcontractors. Everyone took pride in their work, and were committed to ensuring we were pleased with what they’d done. If we had a question, Bill or Eric or the subcontractor were there to deal with it. And never did they make us feel like we were being too picky. 4)Communication. May Construction was very responsive. Whether by phone, text, or email, we were always able to get a hold of the person we needed in very quickly. If they didn’t pick up the phone right away, they always got back to us in a short amount of time. Beyond the usual standards you measure a contractor by, May Construction was interested in ensuring we had a positive experience. Everyone involved was easy to work with, and we always knew our project was important to them. They checked with us every step of the way to make sure we were happy as the project progressed. We highly recommend May Construction, and would use them again.

We hired May Construction to do a whole house design/build remodel on our home. We started talking to them in July of 2014 to start the design process (and had a baby shortly after) and started building in February of 2015. They completed on schedule in June of 2015. During the design portion, we worked with Greg and Liz to work on our admittedly tight budget and help us decide what we could cut out while still adding a bedroom, bathroom and master closet. Their advice was invaluable. There were lots of little things that we would not have considered because we don't have the experience. For example, getting a larger window in our kitchen so the bottom of the window lines up with the counter was a great compromise when we had to cut out the bay window. Greg was great at keeping us within our budget and Liz completely understood our vision for the design. They were also very patient with us when we were slow making decisions because of our newborn. Bill and Eric were the on site managers for the build phase. They were neat and kept us informed on progress and updates. We had a meeting roughly every one to two weeks, with minutes sent out by email afterwards. Our neighbors commented that everyone who worked on our house was great and there was no loud music blasting from our house. We stayed relatively close to our budget (rot in the foundation) and the project finished on time. All the vendors and contractors we talked to spoke very highly of May Construction. We are very glad we worked with May Construction for this project. We also talked to other design/build firms, but decided that our personalities would work best with the May Construction team. They were extremely upfront about everything, and you could tell they wanted to do good construction work instead of spending that money on PR for their company. Would definitely recommend them! When you are given a time line from an outstanding contractor, with quality subs, and your beautiful project is completed just as promised, you can’t find a better company to work with than May Construction. We were extremely lucky to have chosen May Construction for a significant addition and house remodel. Greg took all surprises out of the process by working with us to create a very complete plan, including all contingencies (e.g., potential need to upgrade electric panel). By working with their designer, we were able to dramatically reduce the stress and time in choosing the best styles, materials, and colors. Because of outstanding management by Bill, our project proceeded on schedule and the quality of the work was guaranteed to be outstanding, even when there was a small mistake (they instantly fixed it). In the end, we got exactly what we had hoped for and on schedule and budget. Greg and Debbie are very high integrity people, as are their talented staff and proven contractors. May Construction did a very nice job on an extensive home remodel during 2010. Our project goals were to improve curb appeal and open the interior floor plan. Our home was stripped down to the studs before a new entry way (front door, columns, walk way), gas fireplace, sliding door and kitchen were created. As a kitchen design professional, I interact with contractors quite often. May Construction is very organized, thorough, professional, with excellent workmanship. Whether or not clients are present, they are consistently asking about "what is right for the client," and "how do we make this go as smoothly as possible." The owners also operate the company with the highest level of integrity, and they have been a pleasure to work with.

As someone who has been involved with building thousands of Starbucks stores over the years, I have a bit more experience in understanding the difference between a good contractor and and a great contractor. Good contractors get the job done, mostly on time and maybe on budget. Great contractors get the job done and have ways of dealing with the "unknown unknowns" without a lot of drama. I expected that our master bed/bath remodel job would be done with a high level of quality and would be roughly on time and on budget, based on the experiences other family members have had with numerous remodels that May Construction has done for them over the years. Frankly, we didn't even bother interviewing anyone else. I knew they would be good. What makes them great is the way they recover from the handful of setbacks that will happen on any job, no matter how well it is planned out. Timing delays were recovered with quick communication with their sub-contractors, who are held accountable. Mistakes made on material orders with vendors were dealt with swiftly and with no additional work on my end. When the project manager noticed a less-than-steller work product, May delivered upgrades at no additional cost to me, and followed up a month after the project ended to double-check on our satisfaction with the job in general. Make no mistake - almost every job will have some hiccups. Recovering gracefully from those hiccups and having a playbook of mitigation plans that are time-tested and well-executed is the mark of a GREAT contractor. We got this with May Construction and will be back again for the kitchen/dining room remodel soon!

We hired May Construction in 2014 to do a complete gut/remodel/addition for our home in Los Altos. We took the house down to the studs and replaced all plumbing, electrical, sewer, floors, roof, etc, etc...They provided us with a week by week timeline for the progression of work. At times there were 3-4 trades working on our home at one time to ensure the most efficient use of time possible. Greg from the beginning gave us a very detailed and itemized list for the cost of the project and scope of work, so there were no questions as to what they would or would not be doing. Budget wise, we knew EXACTLY what we would be spending and no "surprise" additional costs many other contractors tend to do. Liz, the designer was patient and always made sure the choices we were making was 100% to our satisfaction. Bill, the project manager communicated every detail with us as things progressed. He also ensured that every detail was fine tuned, even if it meant pulling something out and starting over. If there was not something we were not happy with, they addressed the issue immediately. Our neighbors commented that they were impressed by the lack of noise and debris they expected from a major remodel project. Everyone at May was easily accessible by phone, email, and even text. They were always very responsive with any questions and concerns we would bring up. I would not hesitate to hire May again for our next project. I've already warned Greg and his team to get ready to execute my next "vision!"

We recently completed remodeling our kitchen and two bathrooms with May Construction and had the best experience from start to finish. The communication between the designer and owner, Greg, was seamless to avoid potential surprises once the construction started. We worked with May Construction to order everything before construction began to avoid lead time surprises that would delay the project. The Project Manager, Bill, did a fantastic job giving us an idea of the schedule at the beginning of the project and working to keep construction on time. The job foreman, Jessie, as well as the other May Construction employees and sub contractors were hard working, responsible and a pleasure to have around. I was constantly impressed with the high level of customer service and communication (weekly on site meetings and always available via phone, email and text messaging). What could have been a stressful project turned out to be fun and with an amazing outcome thanks to May Construction!

We were referred to May Construction by a mutual friend and colleague once we made the decision to remodel our master bath and guest powder room. We hired May Construction to perform an extensive home remodel that completed in February 2013. The project involved adding ~950 square feet to our home, including a completely new kitchen, half bath, laundry room/mud room, and a finished basement with full bath. Pictures of our remodel are posted under the title 'Family Friendly Elegance'. We have nothing but great things to say about our experience with May. Of all the contractors we interviewed (~5-6, with 3 on the short-list), Greg May clearly had the most real-world construction experience, and also the professionalism and attention to detail we asked for during the bidding process. Before providing a bid, he organized a on-site walk-through of the project that included all of his potential subcontractors. This allowed them to go over the plans, discuss development approaches and identify potential issues so that they could provide an accurate bid. This was important due to the complexity of our adding a basement under an existing section of house, on a hill with known drainage issues. Greg also was able to clearly explain how the project would be managed, and the expectations he would have for both his team and for us. The combination of expertise and organization led us to choosing May. During the project, Greg was involved in our weekly project meetings and in ad-hoc meetings as necessary to discuss project progress and issues. However, our day-to-day project manager was Bill. Bill has a wealth of hands-on construction experience and effectively managed the subcontractors, ensuring that the work was done to his specifications. Bill is a perfectionist (something you want in your remodel project manager), and either performed or directly oversaw much of the final finishing work including hanging doors, installing moulding, etc. The subcontractors had long-term relationships with May and you could see that they worked well together. We were very happy with the subcontractors, the quality of their work and their professionalism. With only one exception, we would have selected any of them ourselves and given them great reviews. Greg and his staff, including his wife Debbie, were a pleasure to work with and it was clear throughout the project that they really did mean what they said before we signed the deal: that “our goal is to make you a happy and satisfied customer”. This was truly shown when in the final phase of the project, a crack appeared between an old and new section of hardwood flooring. It took multiple repair approaches to fix the crack while ensuring a completely seamless finish across both sections of flooring. Ultimately, the entire floor area (old and new) was resanded and refinished. I’m sure that May and the flooring subcontractor had behind the scenes discussions about the level of effort would be required and who would pay for it, but we didn't see any of that and I was extremely impressed by the concerted effort that both May and the subcontractor put in to ensuring that the work was done correctly, with excellent results in the end. I would recommend that any homeowner in the area take a serious look at May construction for their own remodeling projects.

While we are still working on the project we really like the crew and the company clearly plans a timeline for a job. They have the subs lines up and clearly communicate any changes needed when surprises in the job arise. Great insure crew.

May Construction managed an extensive remodel and addition of our home. We doubled the size of our kitchen and added a 2nd story with a new master bedroom suite. The team from May was very professional. We had regular site meeting during construction in which all the subs active on the project attended. Greg May made sure that everything was getting done properly, showed me any issues or challenges they were running into and made it easy for me to make decisions on all the little details that really make the house feel like our home! I also very much appreciated it, when Greg would let me know that if they didn't get a decision from us on a particular finish or tile product or some such thing by a certain date, that it'd cause the project to delay. This was very helpful for prioritizing the decisions that needed to be made quickly or alternatively weighing the "cost" of a delay if we were really struggling with a particular choice of tile or faucet etc. We lived in the front half of the house with three small children while the construction was going on in the kitchen and back half of the house. At first, the workers (May employees and subcontractors) kept knocking on the front door and needing to get in to the area where the kids were. I let Greg know that this wouldn't work for us, because the little ones needed to nap and I needed to plan when any work or access was required in our living area. He let all the subs know right away and we never had a problem after that. They always gave me at least 1 to 2 days notice and worked with me to find a time that would minimize the disruption on the children. It was great. Most of them have families themselves and were very understanding and supportive. All around, a great team to work with.
