Studio|Durham Architects is dedicated to creating architecture that is sensitive to the project's unique environment and built context. Our approach is to work with each client in a highly interactive process to fulfill the programmatic requirements, while maintaining a commitment to award winning design. The firm's projects have received numerous design awards, and have been featured in national and regional publications. Environmental issues have been one of the central focuses of the firm's practice since being founded in 1992. Sustainable strategies are employed to create architecture that conserves natural resources while creating healthy and inspiring built environments. We are always interested in projects that have good design opportunities, whether large of small. The firm's offices are located in a renovated circa 1880's warehouse in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis.

Design great. Honest not really about cost and full circle design he promotes. Dont trust this. Be careful Architect Is only good if there is enough money to complete Phils design is his desire. Never asks about budget. Will spend without research of other option to help the builder. Will leave holding big debt and no support for inadequate sub contractors from full circle design.

Centro hired Studio Durham to design our first showroom in 1998, and one of the owners subsequently hired the studio for a condo gut-rehab in 2000 and a new condo white-box build-out completed in 2009. Additionally, Studio Durham regularly specifies products from Centro's roster of international manufacturers for his residential and commercial projects. Always timely with documents, always creative with solutions, and always professional in interactions, Phil and his staff have become one of the top firms in the St. Louis region for refined, modern architecture.

Studio Durhan Architects has been amazing! Phil has been especially attentive on our 7 year long project and has always strived to make sure we are not only happy, but informed as well. We are a general contractor specializing in contemporary residential projects. We have completed many projects with Studio Durham Architects over the past 15 years. Studio Durham brings a great design sense to a project and the ability to work well with both the clients and the other professionals. Their drawing sets are the most complete and detailed of any architect we have worked with. This allows us to bid the project accurately and helps eliminate change orders and delays in the construction process. Once construction is underway Studio Durham remains engaged to work with both the clients and the contractor to ensure a great finished project. We would highly recommend Studio Durham Architects.

Philip Durham is an excellent architect. He is the "go-to" architect in St. Louis for contemporary architecture. I have several clients who have used his services and been thrilled.

Phil Durham perfectly executed our vision of blending our traditional home with our modern kitchen and family room addition. With beautiful finishes of walnut, limestone, and stainless steel, we have a living space that is timeless and we enjoy every day. My husband and I have used Phil Durham and his firm for 2 projects in the past several years. We hired "an architect" to discuss some improvements to our out-dated home and wound up so thrilled with Phil Durham's ideas that we wound up totally remodeling our whole home inside and out. He made us feel as if he gave every single moment of the day thinking about our project! Of course he did not, but it certainly felt that way. He was always available to answer every question and solve any and every problem, big or small. Our home is spectacular and we love every moment we are able to spend in it. When it came time to design and build a new office space there was no question as to who we would hire. Only this time we left every decision completely up to Phil and the results are, once again ... "perfect". This project came in on budget and on time. My husband and I would recommend Phil and his firm for any project -- big or small -- modern or traditional! His talent is a true gift to everyone who hires him. Thank you Phil for your talent and insight and dedication to our projects.

At the recommendation of another architect, we have used Studio Durham on a full home renovation in St Louis and 2 major remodeling projects in New York. Our only regret is not being in a situation to build a new house from scratch with Phil Durham. He is highly organized, and has an uncanny memory of meeting details in his follow up notes. He insists on perfection from the drawings of his own team and the work of General contractors and their subs, and is both direct and respectful in his communication. Once Phil understood our style and preferences he was always able to bring 3-4 great materials and design choices which reduced the potential to overwhelm the client. Kommenteret: gorgeous room and rug!In this case I can't help you, the clients who built the house left to return to San Francisco a few months. The furnishings are all from whatever staging company the real estate people hired.
