Raad Studio

We did a gut renovation in Noho and couldn't be happier that we chose to work with RAAD. An all around A-team, in particular Mike and Alessandra. They designed exactly what we wanted and guided us through the ups and downs of the construction process. Look forward to the next one!

My husband and I highly recommend RAAD design. The house shown under “Beach House” in their project list is ours. We have lived in it a year and love it. They listened to how we live at the beach and came up with a truly different design that is beautiful and highly functional. The house had to be 14 feet above the ground. By tucking it into sand dunes and creating a beautiful boardwalk through the middle of the ground level, the house avoids the dangling in the air look of some coastal homes. The tiered decks each have a use that pulls people down to the ground without a treacherous staircase. They were very involved and connected throughout the project, were timely with their work and responses, and knew when to push us because it mattered and when to take our feedback. In every respect, working with RAAD is an excellent experience. We’ve collaborated with Mike House on designing multiple fireplaces for his projects, and seeing the end results is a treat. The way RAAD uses space and materials is gorgeous, and we love seeing our fireplaces incorporated into their amazing projects! James and the team at RAAD designed and executed a beautiful renovation of our NOHO Duplex. They met our needs for extra storage and creating spaces that could serve double duty in ways that were innovative and modern while maintaining a warm, homey feel.

Great team. Beautiful renderings, so realistic. Very nice designs including materials like reclaimed wood, concrete, lacquer, blackened steel, plaster. Etc.

Mike House designed and worked closely with contractor to implement a gut renovation of a 1500 sq foot, two bedroom apartment. I really love the final product and it was interesting for me to watch the process unfold (I was very directly living through a portion of it). He had a good dynamic with the contractor to address problems as they arose and I felt like he was addressing issues that I would not otherwise have identified alone and problem solving for inevitable hiccups.

We used RAAD Studio for design services when we did a full renovation of our apartment in New York, and worked closely with Mike and Yuki, who were both great. They took the time to learn our personal style and were very patient with my numerous emails with links to furniture that I liked. While working with our style, they also gently stopped me from making some bad choices. When our budget had to be curtailed mid-way, they worked with me to find pieces at lower price points that were still interesting and different. I enjoyed their blend of professionalism and the personal touch, and I love the way our apartment has turned out, due in no small part to their excellent taste. I highly recommend them and would work with them again.

mike did a phenomenal job. had lots of creative solutions to thorny problems. and was very responsive. we love living in our newly decorated apt.
