Red House is a full-service, employee-owned building company located in Vermont's Champlain Valley. We specialize in custom residential construction, renovation, and historic restoration. With an emphasis on quality and craftsmanship, Red House excels at meeting the unique needs of their clients. Red House has a diverse staff of dedicated employees including a full-service woodworking shop and a dedicated Home Services division. With a crew of approximately 30 full-time employees we have the capacity to take on large projects as well as service multiple smaller projects. Most projects are generally within a 1.5 hour radius of Burlington.

After interviewing several companies, we selected Red House to work with us and our architect to build our new home. The process was transparent, all employees and their subs were incredibly professional, and the work and craftsmanship of the finished product are impeccable. We couldn't be happier with our choice of builder.

Red House did a terrific job remodeling our home in Colchester, VT. The Red House team was professional, knowledgeable and friendly and worked easily with the architect and us to solve a number of remodeling puzzles. The cost of the project was tracked with great care: we were given a detailed cost estimate before the project began and detailed updates whenever changes occurred. Work proceeded on schedule, apart from a couple of weather delays, and we always knew where we stood from the weekly schedule updates we were provided. When questions arose, we found the Red House team to be good listeners and thoughtful problem-solvers, and we were pleased that (unlike some contractors we have worked with), they remained on task until the last item on the punch list was completed. Best of all, in our view, was the quality of the workmanship, which was generally superb and in some cases (particularly the carpentry) truly exquisite. We are very happy in our home and would recommend Red House without any hesitation, particularly to owners who care about craftsmanship and detail.

I had the pleasure of working with Red House in 2016 after contracting them to build our dream home in Jericho, VT. From our initial concept meeting, where I described my priorities for a small energy efficient home; to the last day of construction the Red House team was fantastic to work with. They are efficient and thorough, they keep a clean and organized site and have a wonderful relationship with all their sub-contractors, they communicate often and effectively, but most importantly they approach every task as craftsmen who exercise care and attention to detail in order to build a robust and beautiful home. Their pride in workmanship is evident at every stage of building, from rough framing to finish work. Since we moved in, we have had multiple requests for home tours by people who are interested in building their own dream home. During these encounters I can’t say enough good things about Red House and their team. In the end they finished my home ahead of schedule and under budget, but more importantly they built my family a home that we love and want to pass down to our children and future grandchildren.

Red House Building has provided construction services to us for over 5 years. Projects ranged from constructing an in-ground gunite pool with patio, outdoor kitchen facilities, and fire pit to an 80 x 80 x 24 steel framed airplane hangar plus car facility. Reflecting on all the projects completed to date, I have nothing but praise for the men and women representing Red House. And especially important, they stand behind their work. A Red House warranty guarantees satisfaction long after the original scope of work is completed. In summary: highly recommended!

We hired Red House to help with the renovation of our summer camp on Lake Champlain. The project, new outbuilding and kitchen, was split into two phases given budget constraints. Red House was an excellent partner and a firm I would highly recommend. They were honest, transparent, and easy to work with. Most importantly, they did first-rate work. Being a successful architect means partnering with a good construction team. That said, I've been lucky to work with Chris and Dunbar of Red House. We shared a complex project with a large number of unusual factors, the success of which was dependent on their daily and diligent shepherding of each work phase. Both the clients and myself were greatly pleased in all aspects of the process: money management, acquisition, fabrication, installation, option provision, even landscaping and cleanliness! Highly recommended.

Chris and his team were extremely helpful and efficient, assisting us with renovating our home. They aided us with design ideas all the way to picking out fixtures and knobs that resulted in a high quality re do of our kitchen, bathrooms, new bedroom and cosmetic uplift to the rest our home. The project was on time and pricing was consistent with our initial discussions. We would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to all.

Kommenteret: Which brand of cabinets are used here? They look like wood grain foil.These were made by Cookshire Cabinet Co. in Quebec, and they are “Grey Obechie Natural Veneer”. We purchased them through Country Home Center in Morrisville, VT.
