Richard and Caroline were lovely to work with! We started working together on our initial drawings and plans for a large scale renovation while we still were living out of state. Once landing in town, our communications and work continued and we were able to move forward with the project. They were mindful of our requests and worked closely to understand the vision we had for the house. Caroline worked with us on the kitchen layout and functionality, based on our requests and needs, versus what might be the traditional way to do a kitchen. We appreciate that and still love the flow and open space we gained. Overall, the experience working with Leaf Design was a successful one, we love our home and are thankful for helping transfer the vision to the final product.

Richard and Carolyn guided us through a complicated effort to build a new garage. We naively thought it would be a fairly simple project, but between zoning laws, the location of our house on our lot, and a few other complications, it was anything but straightforward. Richard and Carolyn listened closely to our wants and needs, respected our financial constraints, and presented us with a design that transformed our antique Tudor into the home of our dreams. The flow works perfectly for entertaining our large extended family, as well as for the daily bustle of our busy family of five. Moreover, the Leafs' design preserved the most important original features, and the changes (thoughtfully placed arches, staircase removals) only enhanced its beauty. Leaf Design assisted us in a multi-year design phase for a major interior and exterior renovation of our 1929 english colonial home. Richard was great to work with through the entire process. He has an eye for older homes and does a fabulous job integrating additions and modifications with the original period features of the home. Beyond his creative / architectural expertise, Richard is extremely organized and is able to deftly navigate the local planning process without issue. He's willing to be as involved as you want him to be in your project from start to finish, and will always make himself available in relatively short order. Truly a pleasure to work with, I would not hesitate to engage Richard again for future work.

We had a great experience working with Leaf Design. The process of multiple meetings and design options helped us realize the perfect design for our kitchen (with a small lounge area) and half bath renovation. Richard was always prompt in our requests for a meeting. In addition, he was thoughtful and honest in response to our ideas or concerns. We appreciated the time and research he dedicated to understanding and correcting an existing structural issue in the entry. With the right contractor the project moved along quickly, because of the very thorough specifications for the project. We are extremely happy with the end result. Leaf Design listened to what we wanted to change at our house, what we liked and did not liked and presented us with 4 different options which all met our needs. One option exceeded our expectations -- it met all our needs and more than we had imagined! Their design maximized our existing square footage, improved the flow and function and provided many unique touches such as archways and unique window accents. We were very pleased with their work, we would hire them again. We have referred them to our friends.

We worked with Leaf Design Associates at the suggestion of our builder. The entire experience was a pleasure. We were very clear about what we wanted and Richard was able to translate our wish list into two different sets of drawings and a third suggesting things we had not thought of and a re-design of our kitchen. In the end, we mixed and matched to come up with a final set of plans, including a new kitchen and are thrilled that we did. This was a redesign/addition to a historic home. Richard worked upfront with our builder and excavator to make sure the design worked within the restrictions set by the Historical Commission. The plans were approved by the Commission on first pass and they noted how pleased they were that the addition looked like it belonged on the original house. Overall, an excellent experience and we highly recommend Leaf Design Associates.
