Om os

Today, Rizzoli New York is an integral part of its parent company, the Italian communications giant RCS Media Group. RCS arose from the merger of the venerable Rizzoli publishing house, founded in 1929, with the eminent Italian newspaper, Corriere della Sera, founded in 1876. Rizzoli New York began its publishing operation in 1974 and has since become a leader in the fields of art, architecture, interior design, photography, haute couture, and gastronomy. In 1990 the Universe imprint was added, marking Rizzoli’s entree into the pop-culture worlds of humor, fashion, beauty, sports, performing arts, and gay and alternative lifestyles. It also contributed a highly successful calendar program and published economical versions of Rizzoli books. Continuing the strategy to grow in international publishing, RCS Libri (the book division of RCS Media Group), Skira, Flammarion, PIE Books, and Marsilio are distributed in America by Rizzoli International Publications. With the creation of our newest imprint, SkiraRizzoli Publishing, two of our internationally recognized publishers have come together to form an imprint focusing on museum publications. Through superior-quality publications, SkiraRizzoli aims to bring museum exhibition content to a larger audience.
