A sensitivity to, and preoccupation with, the superlative Tasmanian landscape typifies our work which includes D’Entrecasteaux House, Lighthouse, GASP!, Highway House, Lookout House and Little Big House. The architecture of Room11 has been widely published and can be found in books by Taschen, Gestalten and Thames & Hudson. Room11 exhibited at La Biennale di Venezia, 2018.

geckostrands

A fabulous artist studio demonstrating Room 11's core architectural ethics. Use of cantilever like GASP, but small scale, angles, proportions and attention to detail. A wall that moves to open up the working space onto a large deck with screens to frame your view of the Huon River. Use of 6mm steel to compliment the celery top timber cladding which is gradually toning into its distinctive pink grey.

Kommenteret: Hello, What type of wood surrounds this fireplace?Hi! The timber is a native Tasmanian timber called Celery Top Pine, and the heath is a concrete slab, sealed with polyurethane. The firewood storage box is made from folded mild steel plate.
