San Diego Cable Railings

I live in St. Louis and engaged San Diego Cable Railings for the railing system for my new deck that I had just completed. I’ve never installed cable railing before, but if you’re capable of building your own deck then you are certainly capable of installing cable railing. So this project was a combination of SDCR’s materials and my own labor. The materials were of very high quality...powder coated stainless steel posts, stainless steel fittings, and quality Ipė wood top rail. After placing the order, SCDR kept me appraised of the shipment status. Communication is excellent either through email or voice calls. So don’t be afraid of using their services even if you live 1800 miles away like me. SCDR well deserves the five-star status that it has earned.

If you are considering a railing system, we highly recommend SDCR. We had a fairly complex deck design that included multiple levels and an arched design element. Based on the clean esthetic of their product and positive reviews, we selected SDCR for our project. I really wanted to install a cable railing inside our new home and after doing some research I landed upon San Diego Cable Railings. I'm so glad I found Evan as he walked me through the entire process and even brought me into his shop on the weekend to show me the different wood options. He answered all of my questions, was able to meet a quick turn around time during the holidays, and even delivered the rail to my home. I purchased a cable rail system from San Diego Cable Rail and it was the best experience I've had for a DIY project. I was hesitant at the beginning because it was done on-line and I'm a bit electronically challenged. I am somewhat handy when it comes to projects and this experience was awesome. The process was easy and straight forward. I submitted a hand drawing of what I had planned with dimensions and SDCR replied with a detailed plan of cable post and material options needed to complete the project. They also provided pricing and installation options with instructions so I could make an educated decision to DIY. Instead of using one of SDCR's select installation contractors, I decided to purchase and do the installation myself. Not only did I buy their product on-line, they provided a phone number that I called. I received great service and support which gave me the confidence to make the purchase and move forward. From start to finish, working with SDCR was a great experience. They provided exactly what they said they would provide. There were no hidden cost. They delivered all parts and tools needed. The parts were separated and marked with a description of what they were for. Not only do I have a great cable rail system that meets all code requirements, I now have a relationship with a business that I would recommend in a heartbeat.

I had built a gravity retaining wall in my backyard and wanted to have a cable railing for unobstructed views of the valley below. I contacted multiple manufacturers but settled on San Diego Cable Railing to provide the system. I was very pleased with how easy it was to work with them. I took measurements and pictures of the project and send it to them via email. They sent back the system they designed with a total of 31 post for my project. I approved the design and six weeks later the entire system arrive in a large crate. It was packaged very carefully, actually over protected but I'll take that over the latter. I installed all the post directly into concrete and a few days later put on the top railing and cables. I did have some questions about how one section of the system came together and sent them an email to confirm. The president of SDCR got back to me immediately and sent me his number to discuss any concerns. The cable railing looks great and I am extremely pleased with the quality and design. The most difficult part of the project was setting all the posts in the post holes straight and level as the concrete was drying. All the system components from SDCR are easy to assemble and very organized. Now back to work to get in the sod. I'm also now looking at building a deck where I will do the same cable railing system.

Evan and his team were very professional in everything they did, from start to finish. I felt like I was getting a competitive price while getting the best product out there. I had never purchased anything like this before but they made me feel very comfortable and were so knowledgable about any of the questions that I had. They stayed involved throughout the whole process and made sure I was happy with everything I got. There are so many options from the type of posts, colors, and design that you can really make this how you envisioned it. We also have a small dog which was one of our concerns about them but we could not feel more safe having her run around on the deck with the cable railings. The product turned out awesome and we could not be any happier with the end result. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

San Diego Cable Railings (SDCR) is a fantastic company to work with -- the cable railing is high quality and beautiful, and the customer service is professional and knowledgeable (friendly and helpful, too!). We couldn't find anyone with cable railing expertise (within a reasonable budget) in Western Maryland. We were extremely encouraged by SDCR's prior clients' reviews, and Brittany and Evan exceeded our expectations. They provided guidance and suggestions to us and to our builder for the railing system on our flagstone front porch. Communication by email and phone was excellent. Shipping was included in the price. We couldn't be happier with the experience and the final product.

My deck has an unusual shape, and I wanted to preserve the forest view, so I choose cable assemblies and 2-inch steel posts for my railing. All the companies I tried were out of my budget for the high quality railing I needed for the harsh environment. Then I found San Diego Cable Railings. Their price was great and their staff were competent, so I went for the deal hoping the quality would be good. It was great, and everything arrived promptly. The whole system went in simply, despite the odd shape of the deck. Our view is preserved and the railing is strong enough to keep my grandkids from chasing the bears away. The top rail makes a nice countertop for a cup of coffee or glass of wine in the forest. When I need more railing I’ll call San Diego Cable Railings again.

SDCR provided stock and custom posts and cables for a luxury home my company is building. The entire staff at SDCR is very professional and knowledgeable. Their product is top tier and their help with our custom requirements was invaluable. In addition their prices are extremely reasonable and they ship on time. And lastly the shipment that was received was packaged with utmost care so no damage occurred during shipping which is a boon as many firms ship with inadequate protection of their goods. Don't hesitate to give them your business. They are an excellent company to work with and I say that from 30 years experience as a home builder.

First I must say that it's really hard to find anybody at all who does cable rail fences in the Los Angeles area. I called a few companies before contacting SD Cable Railing. Of course after several messages to these companies, they never called me back. Go figure. After a complete house remodel the cable rail fence was the last thing on our list to get done and we know what it's like to deal with flaky companies and people. But this was not the case with Steve (I think he is the owner of SD Cable Railings) surprisingly. He is really quick to respond, he knows the world of cable railing, he is forthright, and his shop produces high quality cable railing systems.....PLUS despite the fact that he is in SD, he works with local contractors and was able to coordinate all the installation details and dates with a really nice local experienced contractor. If anybody is in LA, and you want to see how awesome our cable rail fence looks (it actually I think increased the value of our home!!), ask Steve and he will get in touch with me and I'd be happy to let you see our fence.
