When my husband and I bought our house we knew we wanted to do a renovation. After years of plotting and planning Sterling Construction made our dream a reality. We can’t thank Stephen and his team enough. Every worker that came through the door was skilled, knowledgeable and kind. Renee was so helpful throughout the entire process. We did 2 extensions, kitchen, dining room and powder room.

Stephen and his team were very professional from start to finish. As first time home owners, we were a bit nervous to do our first project in the house but Stephen gave us a lot of confidence and insight into the project based off of his previous experiences working in similar homes. We asked Stephen to create a breakfast bar/pass through from the kitchen to the living room as well as replacing carpet with hardwood floors in the living room. In addition Stephen and his team removed a work desk area from the kitchen and created a new counter space with new shelving underneath. His team knew how to navigate any challenges that came up throughout the project and went the extra mile to get the project done in the most efficient and budget friendly manner. Renee and the office staff were in constant communication with us throughout and were very accommodating to us and our schedules. The finished project went above and beyond our expectations, we are extremely happy with the end result and are already planning our next job with Sterling. Highly recommend Stephen and his team to anyone on Long Island looking to start a new project in their home!

We have worked with several contractors over the 20+ years that we are living in our home, but were never satisfied until we engaged the services of Sterling Construction. They are experienced and knowledgable, and their quality craftsmanship is impeccable. They are kind, caring individuals, from Renee in the office to Stephen, the owner, as well as the rest of their team. Their attention to detail is unmatched. You would think that they were working on their own home with the level of perfection they strive to achieve in each job, no matter how small. What more could you ask for in a contractor? I would highly recommend them and would be glad to speak with anyone who has questions.

Simply Placed LLC

We were very pleased with Sterling Construction company repairing the four dormers on our roof, front and back of the house. The wood had rotted over the years and needed to be totally replaced with Azek material. Stephen gave us a thorough explanation of what needed to be done and to prevent any problems in the future. The crew was prompt, very skilled and courteous. They completed the job in the time frame that we were told. The craftsmanship is beautiful and really renewed the look of our home! We are extremely pleased and satisfied with Sterling Construction’s services.

Joe and his team have been an absolute pleasure. we had initially hired a different contractor who left us high and dry and Sterling came in to save the day! they were dependable, creative and open minded. we couldn't throw them a curve ball they couldn't handle. professional and reliable! we highly recommend this team!

We were very impressed with Steven and Joe Martinico interest in trying to save us costs here and there with our massive renovation of our original 1954 split level. The renovation included 2 bathroom remodels, remodeling and extending the kitchen while creating a new foundation room under the kitchen. Moving and creating a bathroom on the ground level which required rerouting of plumbing pipes below the slab along with the new adjacent laundry room. Changing the ceiling height of the living room to match the high ceilings of the new kitchen. Extending the TV room with access to backyard patio. Conversion from oil to gas, new HVAC system and boiler. New windows, roof and siding which consists of hardboard and natural stone.

We hired Steve and his crew from Sterling Construction to completely gut our entire first floor; new kitchen, dining, living room, A/C, electrical, flooring, lighting, windows, doors, and fireplace redesign. Steve is a consummate professional. He listened to what we wanted, offered us some fantastic ideas, and never batted and eye with a change in the scope of work if we requested anything additional. He and his crew were respectful of our home, courteous, very punctual in starting everyday, and most of all, are skilled craftsmen. They do things right! Quality work that shows! To summarize, we are thrilled with their work and would not hesitate to hire Sterling Construction again for any additional work. We highly recommend Sterling Construction.

Sterling Construction staged an epic performance in the complete remodeling of my master bathroom. It was a high end project as the entire plumbing footprint was altered, the ceiling was pitched to a cathedral style and the design was punctuated with precision installation of marble walls and floors. Steve understood what I was hoping to achieve in the existing space, offered great suggestions and proceeded to deliver on every detail that we agreed to. The professional crew was respectful of my house with their attention to neatness. This bathroom turned out nicer than any 5 star hotel bathroom that I have stayed in. It feels like a retreat in my own house. I can't say enough great things about working with Steve. Naturally, with a project of this nature, curve balls were thrown in the mix, but Steve stepped to the plate and consistently got the job done without stress and drama. I look forward to doing another project with Sterling.

We hired Steve and the Sterling Construction team do do a master bedroom addition/renovation and whole exterior renovation. From the start of the project, Steve's team were extremely professional and there work was exceptional. When issues came up, Steve and his guys were very responsive and communicative. We hired Steve and his crew to build us a large mudroom, great room and full bathroom. The project was delivered on time and on budget and the final product far exceeded our original vision. The craftsmanship was tremendous, the team was courteous and always cleaned up the site. Part of our challenge was in making the addition look like it was always there (on a 100 year old house). Steve seamlessly integrated the new work with the original house and everyone comments on how it looks like it was always there. Additionally, the detail work came out beautifully. We have vaulted ceilings, aged beams, fine glass tiles in the bathroom and a locker system for the built in that rivals any we have seen on Houzz. Best of all, we trust Steve and he never let us down. Great work!
