Incredibly helpfull, made the process easy to follow. Advised us on how to contact the necessary authorities, and helped us find the professionals we needed, like the structural engineer. Offers a very personal service, and I definately recommend them. Everything was done within the times given, ie designs, very promptly.

They developed the design for our extension which was unusually complicated by the presence of multiple underground pipes and routing issues with electrical, water and ventilation within the existing property. The final result fully met our requirements.

Benson helped with planning permission submission and building control full plans for approval. He took time to understand what was important to us, and helped us to understand what the options were and the pros and cons of each. He is very friendly and drawings completed to a suitable quality to obtain planning permissions and building plans approval with no additional fuss. Benson also uses his network of contacts to obtain more information from reliable sources if he does not know the answers himself. He has also introduced us to structural engineers and approved inspectors to get the job complete. Will certainly be using again for future projects!

We have worked with Benson of Themack Architects on a few contracts now and we also use them for our own projects too we do for clients or our own developments . They are very helpful, excellent with vision on projects and have the knowledge which is a great help all projects. Working with them as part of a team on a project is the way forward as they are very good with clients and that how we like to work. Everyone at Themack has been amazing throughout the whole process. My wife and I entered in to the extension building world with a very small amount of knowledge as to what was required, when it was required and by whom it was required. Themack Architects took the time needed at every step to ensure that we were comfortable with what was happening and very often went beyond that of his role. Quite simply, if you want a professional, knowledgeable architect for your project then I recommend giving them a call.

We appointed Themack Architects, and have dealt with Benson, on our home extension project - two storey rear / side. We identified local architects and Benson was by far the most helpful and thorough in his approach to our initial query. The relationship has worked very well for us so far, and he has taken us through to RIBA Plan of Work "Stage 3", Building Control. Feedback from other parties (building control, structural engineers, proposed builders) have also been excellent, with positive comments on the detail of the drawings Benson has put together for us. He has good knowledge of the local area (Herts, Beds and beyond) , including other suppliers / professional services we may wish to enquire with throughout the project, but is also keen to ensure you identify other providers and draw a fair comparison between the available parties. Benson is diligent, hard-working, and keen to ensure his client has a full understanding of the process involved in extending your property. This is our first project, and no question has been too small or daft as Benson has kindly taken the time to explain any queries we have had in detail. As our project continues, I will update this review or post a further review as we work through subsequent stages of the RIBA Plan of Work and the build itself; I have every belief that my follow-up praise will be just as good.
