Thoroughly Wood

As the previous reviewer we also found that the paintwork on the (well made) units has broken down after only 4 years. We discovered that the factory is not there any more, and with some difficulty managed to speak to the owner. He did not offer a solution, and certainly no compensation or resolution. We have been forced to pay to have the units resprayed, and the finish is now far superior to the original finish.

We had a Thoroughly Wood kitchen designed for us in 2019. This was an expensive kitchen. It wasn't an easy process and design mistakes were made along the way but in fairness those were remedied. The cabinet making was very good. However, after 6 months the paint started to peel off the doors. The after sales service has been non existent and we are left with a kitchen which looks shabby and battered. Even though someone came back to look at the paintwork and agreed it wasn't satisfactory, nothing has been done about it. I could not recommend his company to anyone sadly. POST SCRIPT TO PREVIOUS COMMENT THIS YEAR, After a 4 year campaign to get the paintwork sorted this has now, finally been done. There was a bit of a glitch along the way with some doors being resprayed the wrong colour but I am now delighted to say that the paintwork has been resprayed where necessary and Mark, the former owner, persisted until the desired result was achieved. Adrian came in to finish off the small chips of paint and we now have a well made kitchen which also looks good. Thanks to Mark for seeing this through (despite ill health). It is always good to be able to recommend a local company.

We were recommended Thoroughly Wood by a friend. She had used them in her beautiful home. They are friendly , professional & have an excellent eye for detail . There work is to a very high standard and I would recommend them .

We wanted a beautiful, unique kitchen and that's what we have. TW make wonderful furniture and fitters are excellent. So pleased we have now expanded their expertise to other areas. Would Thoroughly recommend Thoroughly Wood.

Bespoke solid wood painted kitchen/drinks cabinet designed and installed by TW. Good support provided during the design phase by all members of staff. Fitters were professional, clean and worked incredibly hard. Have already recommended on more than one occasion and will be using them again.

Thoroughly Wood have provided a beautiful kitchen for us, with a high quality finish. Some minor imperfections on the cupboards, but this was compensated by flexibility in the planning and a great fitter, who went above and beyond to make our kitchen work the way we wanted it to. Office staff were friendly and helpful throughout, thanks TW! Would definitely recommend.

My experience with Throroughly Wood was an extremely good one. I had seen a kitchen they had installed in a house that I was looking at to buy and the owner generously gave me their details. They are based near to where I live in East Kent and so I contacted them to design a kitchen for me. The only problem was that the kitchen hadn't yet been built! The designer, Maria, managed to design a kitchen from the remains of the existing kitchen and the plans for a large extension. She consulted with us along the way and helped with choices of finish and furniture (knobs etc.). They incorporated my existing cooker (range) and fridge freezer but also sourced a double drawer dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer all at very competitive prices. The end result is stunning and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for a new kitchen. (Their after-sales service is also second to none,)

We came across Thoroughly Wood at the Grand Designs show in London and were impressed by the quality of their handmade kitchen display units. So, we contracted with them to design and install a fantastic new kitchen for us. Although we had a good idea about what we wanted the team at Thoroughly Wood added great value by suggesting little 'tweaks' to the design which both made the kitchen more visually impressive plus made it a far more usable space. An excellent service and excellent quality product delivered at a good price. I unreservedly recommend Thoroughly Wood to anyone looking for custom made wooden furniture.

We have now purchased two complete new kitchens from Thoroughly Wood. Both were delivered on time and within budget. The first really stood the test of time & was still immaculate 5 years after installation when we sold our house. We missed our lovely kitchen so much that we commissioned Thoroughly Wood to build us a similar kitchen in our new house too. The good thing is that every useable space is made to work for your own needs, rather than being constrained by standard cabinet sizes. We've also commissioned several items of built in furniture including office furniture, dressers and TV units and even a special oak dining table from them too. All have been of excellent quality and finish. The staff couldn't be more helpful & Mark has the knack of transferring the idea in your head onto paper and then creates exactly what you need, adding his own helpful suggestions. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
