I have had the pleasure of working with architect Todd (Sensitive Information Hidden) on several projects over the years. His architecture is not only architecturally stunning, but also true reflections of his clients. As an interior designer I love collaborating on projects as a team. After my small Lake Tahoe home burned to the ground three months after closing on the property, I was at a loss as to the direction I should take. I was devastated and, because I lived on the East Coast, the prospect of rebuilding seemed daunting. Since my location at the Lake was idyllic, I ultimately decided that I would take a leap of faith and rebuild. I had already met Todd Mather, having asked him to submit plans for an addition on the original house. I felt an immediate connection to him and his thought processes, so I commissioned Todd to translate both my ideas and my son Scott's ideas into a breathtaking reality. Todd was able to take the dream of an A frame and create a light filled, practical, and stunningly beautiful home. He guided me through the project and accommodated my many wonderful visits from the East Coast to finalize plans and discuss ideas. His creativity was readily apparent and his willingness to work with our vision provided a sense of security in our first attempt at building a new home. When Todd won the 2019 New Residential Project of the Year Award with our home, we knew we had, indeed, chosen the consummate professional and gentleman.

Todd was the architect on our whole home remodel in Lake Tahoe. He did a fantastic job. He was not only experienced, competent, and responsive, he was also friendly, humble, and and easy to work with. He gave us two or three versions of potential floor plans and then we picked different aspects from each plan to come to a final version. I would highly recommend consulting with Todd for a project and I would use him again.

Todd Mather was referred to me by my contractor to design my Tahoe retirement house. In particular, I wanted a grand entry for a small house whose footprint could not be expanded due to TRPA regulations. Todd gave me exactly what I asked for with the covered porch and large deck. It makes a bold statement. I appreciate his willingness to listen to my vision and make it into reality.

I was doing a complicated renovation - where the design options weren't obvious - and Todd was a delight to work with. He designed me several different options until we found the perfect one! Todd made sure that I got everything I wanted, but that it was buildable and could come in on budget. My new house is not only beautiful, it immediately added more value than it cost. I would work with Todd again in a heartbeat!

Todd is an amazing architect and person. He is very talented, a great artist, listens well, and designs for the client and not for himself. Todd understands construction, snow loads, and more, so he can design a house that works and is within budget. He is innovative, and is aware of new materials and ideas. He is interested in projects both big and small -- he is very versatile. And he is very observant, often finding issues during construction that I have missed many times through. I feel lucky to have worked with him, and I highly recommend him.

Todd was most helpful in planning our project, a garage/bedroom/bath addition to our 50 year-old cabin. He listened carefully to our goals, steered us away from expensive or unworkable details, and solved the architectural challenges. Todd was especially during the bid process, selecting potential contractors, sitting through interviews and sharing his evaluation of the submitted bids.

Todd is a great architect! I have worked on multiple projects with Todd over the years from small additions to large custom Lake fronts. His ability to work hand in hand with the engineer to achieve his and the clients vision really sets him apart. Todd is very punctual and conscious of deadlines.His involvement in projects from start to finish really makes him a pleasure to work with.

Todd is a brilliant in his concept, design and end product! Todd listened to my needs and then created an amazing kitchen design from an old 1940's home with limited space and my limited budget in mind. My house was reinvented from a dark, cramped, blocked off space with limited light to a beautiful warm, inviting open dining, living and entertainment space that I can now feel good inviting my friends and family to share with me. With his design to open up the space but with limited resources, we were able to combine a combination of high end details with a lower end price point to see his vision come to life. With the combination of Ikea meets Restoration Hardware, we transformed a small dark galley kitchen to an open floor plan with limited structure hindrances; allowing natural light, granite, white, stainless and silver with accents with leather furniture to transform a small space to an open living space where the dining room, kitchen and living room came together with brilliance. I would recommend Todd to anyone who is looking for a high end product with a budget or unlimited resources. He is talented, listens to his clients and produces a magnificent product. He is thoughtful, kind, engaging, creative and has a distinct artistic edge. I am proud to be a client and now personal friend!

We completely remodeled a three-story house with exterior decks over three distinct phases completed over 4 years. Todd helped us create a plan that enabled us to achieve our vision with smaller construction phases that met our budget, and preserved our ability to use the house during high season. The new floor plan has a spacious, open feel that maximizes our views of the lake while creating new master bedrooms and indoor recreation space. Todd worked well with our contractor, and balanced aesthetic and cost considerations throughout our project.

Todd Mather is the most talented in his field I have worked with in my 30 years of residential designing. The project I brought to him was very difficult the most challenging of my career. Todd designed a building adjacent to my main house overlooking Lake Tahoe with a large garage/parking area and huge master suite. He was tightly restricted by county set backs, slope, limitations and codes. Not only were the renderings gorgeous and the whole plan brilliant but he paved the way for all of my county and permit approvals and navigated the process along with me. The renderings were so beautiful they were displayed on the dining table at the point of sale, drawing the attention of every potential buyer. They money spent on his plans and ideas were returned to me in my sale price of the project. The buyers specified they were included in the sale. He is first on my list to hire should I take on another project or such magnitude.

Todd is a trusted adviser, professional mentor and after numerous successful collaborations, both inside (architect) and outside (musician) of the office, has become a valued friend. Todd's passion for the built environment is apparent in his work. He conducts his work faithfully and conscientiously. His academic knowledge, practical understanding of snow-country-particulars and proven aesthetic all sit on strong foundations. This allows Todd to reveal the design process to his clients - making for an enjoyable collaboration with personalized results. I knew from the first time we drove around beautiful Lake Tahoe looking at comp's that we shared the same goal - to embed as much design potency into the project as possible. I would welcome working with Todd again.
