About Bill: Bill began his career in construction right out of high school, working for a general contractor doing residential and commercial work in Marin and San Francisco Counties, managing up to 30 people. After earning his contractor’s license in 1989, he moved on to own and operate his own company, Tomrose Construction Inc. Bill’s knowledge of design and construction gives him the ability to help clients in their construction projects in ways many other contractors and construction companies may not. Bill has great passion for what he does. He considers this his life, not his job.

I wish I could give this place minus 100 stars. Worst contractors ever. They came by with all sorts of promises about their 10 year warranty on all services. When it came down to it they had all sorts of caveats. My father, a senior, hired them to rebuild to chimneys based on these lies. Their foreman, Dave, has no idea about construction - totally incompetent. They bait and switched out to Dave at the last minute from the foreman, Norm that was suppose to come. Dave was rushing throughout the process. He made several comments that made it clear he didn't know what he was talking about. The chimneys were being rebuilt due to water leaks. It is important in any construction project that you pay thousands of dollars for it to be built correctly and water tight. In this case it was even more critical because they knew we were all sick from mold. The next two years, we continued to be so so sick. I could smell mold growing in chimneys. And the whole living room floor was filled with visible black mold due to the chimney leak. In October storm, visible water came into the house. When I called Tomrose, Dave again being incompetent said the fix was to stuff something up the overhang. I knew he didn't know what he was talking about. I had hired a mold inspector and another contractor and went on the roof myself to see the chimneys and could see at least 10 different up to 1/2" holes than they left in the chimney. Totally incompetent. Shame on them for taking advantage of seniors. My 80 year old mom is so sick.

Tomrose Construction rebuilt/remodeled our house over a period of just over a year. They were all great to work with, kept on schedule, made great suggestions, and solved problems ingeniously. Mike Tomrose was always available, incredibly even tempered and good natured, and he and his crew worked hard. Tom was always there for us as well, and we appreciated his focus on making sure the work was done, done well, and to our liking. We recommend this company most highly.

Who ever says to themselves at the end of a remodel project, "I hate to see this end?" Well, we did! In fact, after our first experience with Tomrose Construction for a kitchen remodel in 2018, we racked our brains to come up with projects number 2 and even 3. From demo to final invoicing, this construction team pays attention to every detail. The personnel is remarkable and still feels like family--except better! The latest projects were begun before COVID, but we all endured together the constraints placed on the workers and on us as homeowners once county safety guidelines were mandated. Strict guidelines were followed which was no surprise to us as it definitely mirrors how the Tomrose team conducts business. The quality of subcontractors was topnotch. Every single day and just at the hours they told us to expect them, we had workers here. And, if we didn't, we were told why not. Honestly, how many of you reading this can say that has been your experience with contractors? I miss them already but am so confident in their workmanship that I fear we might not see them again until our next project.

This is a long overdue review for Tomrose Construction. They handled the renovation (bathrooms, bedrooms, and new roof deck) on my home a few years back, and I can't speak more highly of them. From beginning to end, Bill and Mike Tomrose and the rest of their crew took amazing care of my home. Since it was only a partial renovation, the Tomrose crew went out of their way to make sure that the rest of the house was clean and undisturbed at the end of every day. Even now, many years after my renovation was complete, the Tomrose crew has made themselves available to help us on much smaller, maintenance-type projects that most contractors their size wouldn't bother to deal with. Once a Tomrose customer, always a Tomrose customer!

We have an older home and needed to have it retrofitted for earthquakes. Bill Tomrose recommended an engineer to draw up the plans and once that was done, Tomrose Construction did the work. HIs crew started on time and finished a day before schedule. The work was really excellent and there was no problem with the city inspection. We highly recommend Tomrose Construction.

Tomrose construction did a phenomenal job in our San Francisco condo, where they turned the older/dated looking hardwood floors into very modern looking floors. We are particularly thankful with John Casey who led the project and he is an incredibly detailed oriented and organized project manager. Not only was the end-result great but the process from initial quote through construction was very smooth, clear and stress-free. The work was done about five years ago and the floors still look amazing. Highly recommend Tomrose Construction and John.

Tomrose Construction came recommended to me by a successful real estate agent and I glad I listened because I've been thrilled with the work they completed for me. In addition to remodeling my master bath and enlarging a bedroom closet, they finished a studs-out remodel of my outdated kitchen. The kitchen designer I hired made so many serious errors (cabinets were a disaster!) that if it weren't for Norm (my Tomrose job supervisor) and the crew, I really don't know what would have happened. They saved me, my sanity, my budget and my kitchen for which I'm profoundly grateful. They also completed many smaller updates around the place. Tomrose got all the jobs done, they kept to the quote, they are very neat and tidy and always professional. Plus the guys on the crew are respectful and nice. And OMG, my condo is just amazing now! Stop by and I'll show you my incredible kitchen!!!! I highly recommend this ethical and professional company for anyone considering work around the house.

My wife and I called Tomrose Construction about 3 days after the fire had destroyed our house. From the first meeting we had with Bill Tomrose we knew we'd chosen a good contractor. We got our architect from Tomrose and we love our house-it's really quite stunning. Bill Tomrose guided us through the rebuild, added suggestions that were to our benefit and did a very good job...I can't recommend him highly enough.

I have had a long standing relationship with Tomrose Construction, both for extensive remodeling in our family home and with commercial properties. These projects occurred at different times over at least 30 years. Our cherished family home was remodeled from living areas, bedrooms, baths and kitchen. The work was high quality and professionally carried out with attention to client and craft, and a fastidiousness regarding clean-up and workplace integrity. They were attuned to our tastes and needs. I would heartily recommend them, unequivocally. 10 stars and then some.

We moved into a house that needed a lot of work. We first hired Tomrose Construction to remodel our guest bathroom. About a year later we hired them again to remodel nearly the entire rest of the house. We remodeled the kitchen, knocked down a wall, raised two sections of ceilings, smoothed the walls, painted, new floors, windows, a slider, interior doors... you name it. Every section of work was priced out individually, which helped immensely when it came to deciding what we could or couldn't fit in our budget. John was our project manager, Norm was the foreman for our first project and Larry was the foreman for our second project. Alejandro smoothed out every wall in the house and Hugo’s paint job looks like butter. Every single person we worked with from the Tomrose team was extremely friendly and professional on top of delivering A+ work. Even when I was nitpicky or made last minute changes, John was always helpful finding a solution and delivering exactly what we wanted. By the end of the project I was actually a little bummed to see everyone go! The house turned out absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend.

We have worked with Tomrose Construction on multiple jobs and have even used them for our personal homes. Their professional and knowledgeable service is provided by a wonderful team in the field and in the office. They always get the job done in a timely manner, with beautiful work, all while clearly communicating throughout the process. As a cabinet design business, we have a small list of contractors we trust to refer our clients to and Tomrose Construction is at the top of that list!

We have been working with Bill and Tomrose Construction for several years now, as we complete various stages of our full home remodel. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Working with Bill is a pleasure, he's communicative, accurate in both cost and time, honest and transparent. He works to find creative solutions when needed and always keeps his eye on what makes sense from a cost standpoint, clearly laying out all the pros/cons of each option. And, bottom line at the end of the day the workmanship is outstanding. I wouldn't trust anyone else working on my house and have recommended him to several friends and colleagues at this point, all of whom have the same opinion.

We hired Tomrose Construction to remodel our kitchen and it was a totally positive experience. At first, we were wary of having a crew in the house off-and-on for a month, but when the job was done, we missed them, they were such nice guys. The wife of one of them became the best cleaning lady we ever had. If you have Norm as the crew chief, save yourself time and trouble and just do whatever he suggests. His taste and eye are impeccable. When the job was done, they left behind a work of art. We can’t recommend Tomrose Construction too highly.

We hired Tomrose Construction to do a major remodel of our master bath on the recommendation of our architects, House & House. We are extremely pleased with the result. The workmanship is outstanding, coordinationwith the architects excellent, cost estimates were accurate, project was completed in a timely manner and the workmen were careful, protected our floors and home, cleaned up everyday. When we were away, they carefully protected our home. We highly recommend them.

Bill Tomrose and his entire staff, architech, contractors and suppliers were extremely professional, knowledgeable, experienced, dedicated, detailed and very friendly men and women to work with, throughout the 9 months of our kitchen, dining room, family room and downstairs guest bathroom! The end results are way beyond what we could have dreamed!! Bill and everyone kept us very informed and on budget through evey detail. Their knowledge of timing and permit experience really made a difference in the completion of our remodel, Our homes photos are in Bills gallery of photos and they should be seen!:)
