Spectra Design Build did a gut reno of our kitchen. The project finished in July of 2015. We are now in the process of having all of the custom cabinetry refinished because the quality was so poor. Be careful. I opted to give this review one start but the Houzz website doesn't allow you to fill in less than 2 stars.

I worked with Spectra Design Build on a renovation of my one bedroom one bathroom apartment in Brooklyn Heights. I was supervising the renovation from out of state so it was very important that I had a team that I could trust. Valeria and Eduard were pleasures to work with, they were responsive, organized and detail oriented. They accommodated all my co-op rules, worked well with my building’s super and were respectful of my neighbors. They helped me maximize a very small kitchen and bathroom and the work came out more beautiful than I had even imagined. They also built a closet that fits so well in the room that it looks like it was always there. They did all this while working with and meeting an extremely aggressive time line. I would not hesitate to work with them again and recommend them completely.

This company has worked on our main bathroom a few months ago. They provided advice as to materials and design choices. The work quality was outstanding - it's been a few months since the project has been completed, and I still admire it every time I walk into the bathroom. If you appreciate attention to detail in your contractor, go with Spectra Design Build.

Ed and Valeria are a highly talented couple. They did two projects for us: a built-in bookshelf and a built-in bookshelf cum entertainment center. Their craftsmanship is perfect and they use the highest quality materials. We are very happy with their work and feel no hesitation with recommending them to everyone.

I had a great experience with Spectra Design . The works were finished on time and we did not exceed the budget . They are good professionals , honest and take great care of details . They are also proud to deliver an impecable result . The communication was also very good and they were always open to suggestions. They also made the administration , purchases and deliveries , what was very efficient . They have excellent subcontractors and well trained own workers . I would not hesitate to recommend them or hire again

We hired Spectra to design and build a new kitchen and they did a great job making the best use of our oddly shaped space (an angled galley in a pre-war building). Custom cabinets are beautifully made, our storage has increased, and the kitchen is much lighter and more inviting. The team made helpful suggestions, and also listened to what we wanted so the process felt collaborative.

Ed and Valeria were lovely to work with. From the first time they walked in Ed's laser eye was sizing up the room and identifying solutions. We worked with Valeria to choose finishes and materials, and Ed and his competent staff met every technical challenge with good nature and creativity. Things took longer than we thought but came in pretty much on budget. Most importantly Spectra stuck with us to the end to resolve every issue without complaint, and ultimately in a quirky space in a demanding building they created a beautiful kitchen built to last.

Ed, Slava and Valeria transformed an image in my head into reality. I'm very happy with how my kitchen turned out. I had a very outdated kitchen and wanted to open up the kitchen to the living room. I lived in the apartment through the renovation, which made it even more challenging. But they made it all possible. I am glad to have customized cabinets which efficiently provides more space in the kitchen than cabinets ordered from Lowe's. Ed was excellent at drawing a layout that takes into consideration my needs. The quality of workmanship is great, with Slava returning to make sure that all minute details were done and done well. I very much recommend Spectra for your renovation needs!

We hired Spectra for a gut renovation of our Brooklyn apartment (the first time we've renovated). Ed, Valeria, Slava and the rest of the team were easy to work with, communicative, and always available. They gave us suggestions and recommendations, and would send photos for confirmation before proceeding. They were flexible with changes made throughout the renovation and very transparent about costs.

Our scope of work included a full gut renovation of the kitchen and remodeling of our bathroom, living room and bedroom. Spectra did a wonderful job transforming our apartment in line with the modern, minimalist vision that my wife and I had. I am happy to write this recommendation for Spectra!

Valeria and Ed approached our project with enthusiasm, professionalism, and patience. They were always a pleasure to work with, as was Slava, who oversaw much of the on-site work. They kept the project within our budget while helping us achieve our goals, and were always willing to deal with tricky complications in a pre-war building. The finished kitchen came out exactly as we envisioned.
