Brandt Hay, the firm co-founder and Design Principal of Stoa Studios, is a practicing architect actively engaged in the design of custom residential, office, commercial, retail, and educational building typologies. He maintains an abiding passion for human-centered design, is an enthusiastic student of timeless architecture past as well as present, and travels extensively as part of this study. Mr. Hay leads the design process for all design projects, and personally handles all major communications with clients. During the past decade he has had the opportunity to engage in a rich variety of design work for a diverse group of clients. This work has included designs for Tavistock Group (Custom Homes), Florida Hospital (Healthcare), and Simon Property Group (Retail). Mr. Hay has served on the board of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art Florida Chapter, is on the Walt Disney Company’s list of approved architects, and is a LEED® certified practitioner of energy efficient design. He is licensed to practice architecture in Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Tennesse, Texas, and Washington.

Brandt did an excellent job designing my custom home. He asked all of the right questions in the pre-design process to deliver an impressive drawing in the first round of design. He shared his insights on specific features including window styles, roof layout, foundation structure, and kitchen functionality. He was receptive to making modifications in the drawings that I suggested, and then showed me pluses and minuses of my design changes. Brandt was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him to design your home.

We recently completed an addition on our home that included some very complicated transitions between the old house and the new side. We hired Brandt to come to our home for an initial consultation and then to draw up the ideas we discussed. He is the most polite, professional architect that we have ever worked with. He listened intently to our needs, provided a variety of suggestions, and was very patient with our indecision throughout the whole complicated process. He was very accessible and willing to answer questions that came up as we got into the "bones" of the project. We can't say enough about this design sense and depth of knowledge about how to maximize our space and yet not lose the aethetics of the space!

Brandt Hay helped us design a garage apartment for my Grandmother totaling a little over 800 sq. ft. The thing I most appreciated about working with Brandt was his professionalism. He was detailed not only in his designs but in his verbal explanation as well. He took into consideration the needs of an elderly woman and asked her many questions so that he could provide solutions and make life a little easier. He made the most of the small space and we get many compliments on how open the space feels. For the exterior of the apartment he ensured the apartment had natural light and even a porch with a swing. The porch was something that we weren't sure we could do from a design perspective and staying within the guidelines set by the community architecture policies. But Brandt made it happen. He delivered every detail that we asked of the design and even stopped by multiple times during the building process to ensure it was built as designed. He stayed with us through the entire process and we highly recommend him.

We worked with Brandt on house plans for our dream home and a set of renovation plans for another home. Brandt is very professional, knowledgable, thorough and personable. He is extremely capable and is great at assessing needs and style and making wonderful recommendations. He really listened to what we wanted, addressed many questions and concerns and was able to come up with plans that were better than we could have imagined. He made sure that each and every detail in the plans was just how we envisioned it (or better). He is so creative, thoughtful, patient and meticulous. He makes the journey to amazing plans so enjoyable. We could not be more satisfied and highly recommend him!

Brandt did an excellent job designing a 2 story addition to our home in Celebration, FL. With his knowledge of design and building codes and the time he spent gathering the owners' ideas and objectives, Brandt made a great layout and was able to put together a set of working blueprints and specifications that exceeded our expectations. The old saying "A good set of blueprints and specs, you get a good estimate. A poor set of blueprints, you get an incomplete estimate" rang true with our project. Brandt took the time to review every aspect of the project and followed up in a timely manner with any change orders. Brandt's office supplied a list of approved general contractors who submitted 4 bids, and I feel we saved enough costs to cover most of his Architectural fees. The project turned out wonderful, and was completed on budget.

Brandt did a project for our home on Acadia Lane this past year. We needed to add space over our garages. My mom was moving down and she needed a small apartment on one side and to make it look like a match a man cave for the other side. Brandt was such a creative force and did an amazing job. He created a seamless look for our house that only enhanced the look an beauty of the architecture of our home. He worked with the town to make sure it was within their guidelines and he helped us with finding contractors etc. Would definitely recommend him for any project you are contemplating. Thank you Brandt for a job that was perfect from start to finish. Trisha and Steve
