“I really can't recommend Josh Maguire and the House Architects strongly enough. He is a terrific architect, firstly, who saw things in the space available that we never could have, and enabled us to build something that is so much better that we could ever have imagined ourselves. We learned to trust his judgement very strongly. The finished building, a two-storey extension to the rear of a 1930s bungalow in suburban Dublin, is simply wonderful, and we couldn't be happier with it. Josh was also the project manager for the building project, and made some excellent recommendations as to building contractors we might approach for tenders. He helped us through an occasionally tricky planning process with calmness and wisdom. He made sure that, in a relatively long (9-month) build, in which we still lived onsite, that there were no insurmountable problems and kept in touch very regularly. One of the things that particularly impressed us was the sense of clarity about the project. This began with clarity about costs. We got a detailed breakdown at the beginning of what the architect's costs would be, and when they would be incurred. This was adhered to precisely. What this means is that, in a project where there will always be unexpected developments and extra costs, these did not come from the architect. We would go to the House Architects without hesitation for any future project we had, and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for an architect.”
