I am a very versatile designer that masters both conceptual and technical aspects of the design process. I have a very playful approach and always strive to give to the product some characteristic features and personality that will make it stand out from the crowd.I have worked within many categories of product design, from futuristic electrical cars to pink horse stables for Lego. Working with new fields and continuing to learn, these are very motivating factors for me, and naturally keeping having fun along the way.

The motto of the Nautilus was “Mobilis in mobili”, which means “changing within the changes” or “movement within mobility”. This not only describes the way we at ISKOS — BERLIN approach our work, but also the history of the company. After 23 years of successful sailing Komplot Design reached the sea of changes, and out of its wake emerged something new. ISKOS — BERLIN Design is a partnership of Boris Berlin and Aleksej Iskos. The company works within the fields of industrial, furniture and graphic design. The firm was only established in late 2010, but Boris and Aleksej have been working together for a number of years. In 1987, Boris co-founded Komplot Design, where Aleksej was employed as an assistant for more than 11 years. This long and fruitful cooperation has allowed them to develop a shared philosophy of design. In their own words: “We see design as an art of storytelling. This story is normally quite complex, consisting of semantics, morphology, materiality, technology of objects and many other elements. But the clearer your story is, the more likely people are to understand it. The more surprising you make your story, the more likely they are to remember it. And finally the more you make people smile, the more likely they are to love it! Our aim is to retain the best elements of Komplot’s philosophy of design and to make them sharper, clearer and more precise. At ISKOS — BERLIN, we look to experiment with new technologies and materials, to explore their impact on everyday objects. These objects have their own individual histories, which are also part of wider narratives of the way we interacting and thinking with things. By allowing the materials to choose their own direction, to speak for themselves, we try to bring a novel twist to this ongoing (and unending) story”
”The fundamentals should be re-thought” Hee Welling (Denmark) and Gudmundur Ludvik (Iceland) are contributing to the renewal of environmentally friendly design centered around the personal experience. The Industrial design of Welling/Ludvik aim to achieve the best possible solution as seen from a number of different perspectives. Comfort, materials, construction, pricing and environment are all defining factors in this approach to design, which also relate to the contemporary state of technology and challenges to society. Welling/Ludvik always seek to maximize the potential of modern manufacturing in their designs. “Knowing your goal from the beginning is the key to maintaining artistic freedom while adapting to the technical aspects of production.” The design of Welling/Ludvik is defined by a pure aesthetic, stripping away the redundant and letting each detail serve a functional purpose. These are traditional virtues of scandinavian design, which the duo revigorate for the present day market using modern materials and production technology. “Good design never loses its ability to be interesting, even when reduced to its most simple form.” Hee Welling and Gudmundur Ludvik both have deep roots in the Scandinavian design and crafts tradition. They met at the Danish Design School in Copenhagen and have since been sharing a studio. In 2010 they founded Welling/Ludvik to combine their efforts and improve their design even further. Hee Welling has a degree in furniture design from DDS. At the turn of the millennium Hee founded his own studio, which quickly became internationally renowned. Gudmundur Ludvik has a background as a carpenter and a sculptor from The Icelandic Academy of Arts. He also holds a degree in furniture design from DDS.

GamFratesi’s design takes its creative drive from a fusion of tradition and renewal and in an experimental approach to their chosen materials and techniques. With their dual traditional background, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi draw on the classic Danish furniture and craft tradition as well as the classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach. Understanding a tradition and addressing it actively in the workshop makes it possible to expand on it. From this cross-cultural substrate they create furniture that respectfully reflects tradition while also featuring unique embedded stories, symbols and associations, often expressed in a minimalist idiom. GamFratesi aim to create furniture that illustrates the process and the techniques that created it, and which reflect a persistent exploration of the diverse border zone between harmony and disharmony. Gamfratesi studio was founded in 2006 by danish architect Stine Gam and italian architect Enrico Fratesi. the studio is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
