As far as my son goes as far as we know the Gallbladder surgery surgery was successful but the acid test will be over the next few days and weeks to see if he can resume a normal diet. The pancreas was damaged so there’s still may be some healing there to do.

Meanwhile someone’s trying to tell me that she hasn’t had any attention for 24 hours and she expects me to make up for it.

It's been a tough 24 hours for sure. Good to hear the scratches are healing and a visit to the clinic is a good idea to get the tetanus shot and antibiotics. Try to just relax a bit-have an adult beverage. Your son's surgery is over and he is home. Ollie has been traumatized but has food and knows you are there so hopefully will relax some too. I'm sure you know this but the prednisone makes them pee so don't be alarmed if you notice that.

Don’t focus on style per se but you can see how the blue/gray sofa would provide terrific anchor for your room. Notice the velvet (texture) striped pillow. That’s how you can add a bit of raspberry/purple with gentle touch. I used shades of Carmel and light wood tones. Very pretty but functional look. A coffee table with storage or pull up table provides even more flexibility. Enjoy!

This just showed up in my Nextdoor feed. Is there anything here that you don't already do in the cold months? Probably not... 😊
I’ve seen those tubs used many times with the Styrofoam insulation inside. I may have to go that route if I can’t get what I have insulated enough. I guess the problem I’ve been thinking about is I don’t just have one cat per shelter. I do have some tubs and was about to cut some holes in them and buy some Styrofoam and then came up with other containers that I already have but they sure need insulation. I’ve got a bale of straw for inside. Which is great for them borrowing if I put it deep enough in there. Jay you always come up with a good stuff and always full of surprises. What you show is what a lot of people use so they must work well and yes for it to be up off the ground is key as well. I think there’s one cat that is Libby. She is the grandma of these pets. I have inside, all the black ones. She’s the only one that is kind of a loaner and a bit skittish, but is always out front. We’ve had her for many many years and she is what I would call one of our pets, not one of the strays. She’s of course fixed. She was the only one in the backyard and very comfortable for many many years. Now that Missy and her kittens are back there, Libby I feel like has been ousted and I feel bad for her. She resides mostly on the north side of the house is the one that I’m worried about and she is an elder. I have a store-bought actual cat house out there for her, but she doesn’t like it of course. She’s been my main priority for winterizing shelter at this point. Now she may go across the street where she grew up, but it’s hard to tell unless I see her coming from that area. And they boarded up they’re underpinning as I did here in the back today.
Alice, for Libby this winter: there's a self-heating cat pad on sale on the rainforest for only $9.99. It's not huge (there are other sizes) but if it was put down inside a box or plastic tub it might help her get through the winter. You could put some newspapers down first for insulation and put the mat on top of them. https://www.amazon.com/WanpeeGoo-Self-Warming-Cat-Bed/dp/B0FGCSYPXY/ref=sr_1_8?crid=S5TBQLXU3W93&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.mBww2uliYdj2Fn_Z4p_DCDdB3gqQ_1C74tVg
There are other sizes and options but this one is on sale right now before cold weather hits.
