@chispa in a lighter shade, that would count as interesting but not busy! You are right, I will go to a small store. The chandelier def needs to be lower and we will do that when we buy one. The art is centered at 5'4" (i.e. me!)
@Patricia Colwell the counter is silestone Et Calacatta Gold.
@Maureen I love those photos, i need to replace the recessed light witha pendant, that would be pretty. The builder recommended 3 windows, it would have been lovely! But, I like my upper cabinets there over the dishwasher, laziness won over prettiness. I will get some nicer matching pots and move the cactus elsewhere, the plants will help a lot.

Well you already have the 4” backsplash, so you’d want to remove that first if you add a backsplash to all of the counter areas. but yes, you should do something something just behind the range or youll be cleaning your painted wall constantly!
