Yes, the arrow would be the path of how you could potentially walk/run to the doors from the stairs. The left door too is accessible now, unless you don't need it . In that case a console table by the door and stairs can be useful too.
You could also just keep it open with only a few furnishings. Your family’s needs may change and then you’ll will have a better idea of how you want this space to function.

That’s beautiful Designer Interior South! Would it be weird to keep the hutch (I use it for kitchen storage) and just push it forward maybe 1-1/2” inches or so and let the drapes go behind it a little?
Based on what I can see in your photos there isn’t a ton of room there so moving it off the wall would make it even more cramped. Ideally since your door appears to have the right hand side door the “active” one , if I were coming in to do the window treatments and knowing they would be functional with daily use I would likely recommend removing the hutch and mounting the drapery rod further onto the wall where it is so you can have a one directional drapery stack to the left so there is no blocking onto the active door at all when open.

Do you have a glass shop near you ? If so easily done . If not then maybe make your want something less specific . Might be a good idea to give us some idea of why that particular size
Agree with above adivce, google - "glass and mirror" and see what comes up, not all do residential (some are only commercial) but I would imagine you would have options
I agree about the scratches and the corner looks like it was repaired.
They deserve a chance to make the repair more inconspicuous. The scratches are unacceptable. They want this to go away as badly as you do, believe me.

You are removing all crown moulding - Seriously! I have crown moulding on my 9 foot ceilings on the first floor and on 8 foot ceilings upstairs and they are all painted white and they look gorgeous!

My 1988 house had the same thing when we purchased in 2019. took crown trim and baseboard off but kept windows and doors. Also sanded popcorn ceiling.
Of your 3 choices, the Shoji White looks the best IMO. But, that is an AI rendering, not real-life. You need to test paint samples in the space.
I'd sample off-whites/soft whites -- they're not going to fight with the trim. Stay away from grays and blues.

I think what you have now is so much more attractive than either Duxbury Gray or Stonybrook and certainly better than them together. We bought a gray house and painted it blue. What a wonderful transformation!

The table was a gift from my parents 40+ years ago,since it is a simple table I would like to make it work. i am thinking of sanding the wholentable to raw wood now. Chairs are very solid maple and honestly most chairs now are not made nearly as well. i need to make these work. i want to paint now as there is not much else I can do during construction. natural wood table and soft black/taupe?
You should be aware of how difficult maple is to stain. It's a very hard wood and can be blotchy when stained. Maple also has a tendency to yellow when it is left in its natural state. I would look for tutorials on how to stain maple effectively.

Pictures are lovely! The green pillows look good. I would do 2 16-18 inch square pillows. Maybe a gold lumber pillow for middle of the sofa. The length would about the size of the sofa seat.

I like the artwork including its size.
I don’t think the artwork is too large. Its proportions work well with the bench and the height of the wall, and it gives the entry the presence that the smaller canvas was probably missing. It may only feel oversized because your eye was accustomed to seeing a much smaller piece there. I would live with it for a while before changing anything.
I also like how its soft colors work with the wood bench and the classic architectural details. The entry already has a lovely balance between traditional character and a cleaner, more current look.

I think you need to consider some things.
- What is the style of the rest of your home?
- What is the architectural style of the home?
- Wallpaper is an investment . Will you still love this pattern 1,2,3 years from now?
- You have a large wall that wants art. What type of art will you be combining with the large floral?
Patterns like this tend to date themselves much quicker than more neutral patterns.
Your fixtures and mirror skew modern. Yes pedestals are traditionally based but once they are black then they become more modern by default. The mirror is modern. Bringing in overly traditional elements by way of finish carpentry might not be in the spaces best interest , especially if the rest of the home doesn’t warrant it.
Consider doing a more neutral based patterned paper and bringing in your floral by way of art. Something like this will give you more longevity and you can change the art when you feel like you’re wanting something different.
Crown that does not protrude as much and add crown around the ceiling. It will look nice.
Add an upper row of cabinets to balance out that hood ab give you more storage.
How high is the ceiling? Is it vaulted? To me, cabinets that don’t go up to the ceiling look awkward and cut off. The hood protruding above them emphasizes this awkwardness.
