This charming mews house in London was in need of an uplift. The client came to us requesting a "bright, lofty interior with Scandinavian accents". Being a classic mews house, the property had many typical features - stable doors, tiny frontal windows (with none to the rear!) and ceilings which encroached on the rooms. This required us to take a carefully calculated approach to achieve the desired effect while retaining the character of the house. Our talented design team opened up the space by cutting through the external fabric of the building, creating new apertures for automatic skylights as well as a series of new back-facing windows. The interior layout was also carefully considered to ensure that plenty of natural light flowed through the new rooms, delivering that all important Scandinavian feel.
