Wallpaper: The Bold and the Beautiful
I've been uploading like crazy today, and most of them are commercial images of wallpapers. Some of the shots I picked because I loved the photography; Graham and Brown, like Blu Dot, obviously puts a lot of thought and style into their photos.
Personally, I've bean MEANING to buy wallpaper for about five years, but I am having a lot of trouble committing, and getting organized enough to call a wallpaper hanger. Sometimes I am tempted to just put glue all over the wall and make a giant collage of favorite images. That is one of those ideas that sounds like a good idea after a glass of wine but is actually a typical Becky D.I.Y. disaster waiting to happen. Past incidents include the time I decided to glue bamboo from my brother's yard all over my bathroom walls, only to discover too late that it was infested with ants!
Some questions to consider when you choose a wallpaper:
1) Will I be able to relax in this room with this pattern on my wall? Will a bold metallic paper keep me up at night?
2) Will I still like this pattern as my tastes change? Is it classic enough to stand the test of time or is it a passing trend?
3) Is the scale of the pattern appropriate for the size of the room?
4) Is this a space where I will want to hang art, and if so, does this pattern allow for it? Is it a spot where I can hang art from crown moulding? If not, consider that you may be damaging the paper with nail holes, so there is no room for error!
5) Is there any way I can use the leftover paper? Perhaps you can line drawers or trays with it, frame smaller pieces, or even cut it up to make notecards. Don't let it go to waste.
Please let me know if you have any more suggestions for choosing a paper! Also, I'd love to see some of your favorite papered rooms - leave links in the comments section!

Love these shapes and colors. Is that a Paul Smith pillow?
I just love the photo styling here - Squares, circles, red, white and light blue, retro phone, etc....
what i like about this space is...the photo styling again! I love this wallpaper; I don't care if birds are passe; they'll be back!
I want to nestle into this couch with a big glass of Cabernet.
what I like about this space is...that coatrack!
I wonder if this photo director had just watched Lionel Ritchie's video for "Dancing on the Ceiling" before shooting these?
GLAMOUR!
GLAMOUR, mirrors,reflection, metallics, pattern.
They make hanging art on a busy pattern work, and I love that they wallpapered those otherwise boring can pendants.
I don't think I could actually fall asleep in here, but I appreciate the bold glamour of silver and deep pink flowers on the walls.
They used this wallpaper in the TV show Swingtown and it was perfect!
I just love orange! It stands out so well in this room without overwhelming it.
The retro yet modern vibe is great with this wallpaper.
This is just bizarre, but I really like it. I might not interrupt the design with the toilet paper holder though.
I found a fun wallpapered closet image from Nina V. Freudenberger. I think the first time I saw this done was in a Martha Stewart Living magazine about 15 years ago.
