Design Directives, LLCOur Scottsdale interior design studio created this luxurious Santa Fe new build for a retired couple with sophisticated tastes. We centered the furnishings and fabrics around their contemporary Southwestern art collection, choosing complementary colors. The house includes a large patio with a fireplace, a beautiful great room with a home bar, a lively family room, and a bright home office with plenty of cabinets. All of the spaces reflect elegance, comfort, and thoughtful planning.

The Interior EdgeThis stunning foyer has a raised and beaded floridated design that is a great contrast to the black absolute marble. The black velvet ottomans have beaded silver and black rhinestones in a straight pattern along the top with a rhinestone button (from M&J trimmings,NYC) and the edges are done in a Chrystal in silver and black beaded trim in an Art Deco pattern. The corners are inset with silver cloth. The sofa/foyer table is mirrored along with the wall sconces and oval mirror.

UserThe design for this lovely Somerset home blends both classic and contemporary themes. The entrance hall is a welcoming space and is softened by the John Cullen Lighting system, which creates a soft glow of ambient light. The drawing room walls are rendered with ebony and ivory polished plaster, and teamed with wool and cashmere soft furnishings, creating a strong graphic design style.
Dramatic floor uplighters highlight the Philippe Starck mirror, and the Barbara Barry cross-back dining chairs, create an intimate and glamorous dining room.
