Scott Homes, IncThis large, L-shaped house keeps the feel of a craftsman home, but is full of luxury.
SoYoung Mack Design, Assoc. AIARenovation of a Mediterranean style home into a contemporary, loft-like, light filled space with skylight roof, 2 story slate fireplace, exposed I-beams, blue glass stairwell, glass tiled baths, and walnut and Koa kitchen. The palette is a soothing blend of browns, neutrals, and slate blue with modern furnishings and art, and Asian artifacts.

Desakota Developments ltd.This projcet involved the complete restoration and redevelopment of an existing heritage house. The house was lifted and a full basement complete with a registered basement suite was added. Also, a new upper story was added while retaining the existing front and side gables.
Hoffman Grayson Architects LLPOriginally, the front of the house was on the left (eave) side, facing the primary street. Since the Garage was on the narrower, quieter side street, we decided that when we would renovate, we would reorient the front to the quieter side street, and enter through the front Porch.
So initially we built the fencing and Pergola entering from the side street into the existing Front Porch.
Then in 2003, we pulled off the roof, which enclosed just one large room and a bathroom, and added a full second story. Then we added the gable overhangs to create the effect of a cottage with dormers, so as not to overwhelm the scale of the site.
The shingles are stained Cabots Semi-Solid Deck and Siding Oil Stain, 7406, color: Burnt Hickory, and the trim is painted with Benjamin Moore Aura Exterior Low Luster Narraganset Green HC-157, (which is actually a dark blue).

Reverse ArchitectureRenovation of a 1940's ranch house which inserts a new steel and glass volume between the existing house and carport. The new volume is taller in the back in order to create a more expansive interior within the otherwise compressed horizontality of the ranch house. The large expanse of glass looks out onto a private yard and frames the domestic activities of the kitchen within.
