David Bauer, Cornerstone Builders of SW FlThis laundry room project took a simple average laundry room and turned it into a high end traditional laundry room with built-in machines. The walls have gray marble laid in a subway pattern. The laundry machines are topped with galaxy granite, allowing for a spacious place to fold clothes. To the right of the laundry machines is an under mount stainless steel deep laundry tub for soaking. To the left of the laundry machines. The client opted for a beer bar displaying their beer stein collection over a built-in wine refrigerator housing exotic beers. The end result of this project is a multi functional space. This project was designed by David Bauer and built by Cornerstone Builders of Southwest Florida

Often times the laundry room is forgotten or simply not given any consideration. Here is a sampling of my work with clients that take their laundry as serious business! In addition, take advantage of the footprint of the room and make it into something more functional for other projects and storage.

Sweeney Design RemodelDesigning the ultimate multi-purpose laundry and mudroom required a clean slate. This meant gutting the space and reconfiguring the layout.
Plenty of storage was designed into the room, including a wall of cabinets above the washer and dryer and a fantastic gift-wrapping station with handy gift paper rods and open shelving. The custom shaker-style cabinetry is finished in a medium stain and topped with a durable and easy to maintain Corian solid surface countertop in an ‘Abalone’ color.
One wall was designed with a ‘Slatwall’ by ProSlat. This creative wall system allows for endless variations of hooks and shelving to ensure the family’s coats, backpacks, and other items are stored up and out of the way but still within easy reach.
The floor is finished with a Trento tile called ‘Seaside Cliffs’ and adds a rustic touch to the space. A side-by-side washer and dryer, Hazelton undermount sink and stainless steel ceiling fan finish out this amazing transformation.
