The experience was designed to begin as residents approach the development, we were asked to evoke the Art Deco history of local Paddington Station which starts with a contrast chevron patterned floor leading residents through the entrance. This architectural statement becomes a bold focal point, complementing the scale of the lobbies double height spaces. Brass metal work is layered throughout the space, adding touches of luxury, en-keeping with the development. This starts on entry, announcing ‘Paddington Exchange’ inset within the floor. Subtle and contemporary vertical polished plaster detailing also accentuates the double-height arrival points .
A series of black and bronze pendant lights sit in a crossed pattern to mirror the playful flooring. The central concierge desk has curves referencing Art Deco architecture, as well as elements of train and automobile design.

This project is a refurbishment of a listed building, and conversion from office use to boutique hotel.
A challenging scheme which requires careful consideration of an existing heritage asset while introducing a contemporary feel and aesthetic.
As a former council owned office building, Group D assisted the developer in their bid to acquire the building and the project is ongoing with the target of opening in late 2023.

Designed as the heart of the home, this open-plan living space balances classic architectural detailing with contemporary elegance. Bespoke joinery, a marble fireplace and herringbone oak flooring create a refined backdrop, while black steel-framed doors introduce depth and define the connection between living and kitchen areas.
Layered textures, warm neutral tones and carefully selected lighting soften the architectural lines, resulting in a space that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. Every detail was considered to maximise natural light, functionality and everyday comfort without compromising on timeless design.

Colonial style living area with ceiling strapping, ornate cornice, wool carpets and provincial bar area.

This five-storey Battersea townhouse has a unique diamond-shaped footprint and retains the remains of a Victorian bakery in its basement. Our design centred on celebrating its history while opening up space and light.
A new stair core wrapped by a “thick wall” integrates bathrooms, storage, and circulation, freeing the floors and highlighting the unusual geometry. A dramatic double-height void connects basement and ground floor, bringing the old bakery oven into the heart of the home. At the rear, a bespoke kitchen extension follows the building’s angles and opens to the garden, framing views toward the industrial chimney. Finishes include pigmented plaster with a natural texture reminiscent of bread dough, adding warmth and depth.
