Rena Poulsen DesignAdding to the eclectic collection of furnishings, this custom made headboard was designed to repeat similar shapes and patterns use throughout this penthouse home. It is decorated with nail heads that mimic the shape and tie in the metal of the bedside lamps.
The lamps repeat the exotic style and add symmetry on the chinese bedside cabinets.
As in the living room another brightly coloured persian patchwork carpet is used to ground the space and compliment the purple wall colour.
The rest of the walls are white and along with the white furnishings, help to balance the bold use of colour.

Everything HomeEvery detail of this European villa-style home exudes a uniquely finished feel. Our design goals were to invoke a sense of travel while simultaneously cultivating a homely and inviting ambience. This project reflects our commitment to crafting spaces seamlessly blending luxury with functionality.
The primary bedroom suite was transformed into a tranquil inner sanctum, evoking the ambience of a resort hotel in coastal Cannes. Layers of tufted linens and embroidered trims adorned a palette of light blues and creams. The sophisticated atmosphere was enhanced with luxurious details, including reading lights, automatic shades, and a custom-designed window seat and vanity.

It wouldn’t take more than this enchanting room to entice a guest to stay. Old and new elements combine with style and imagination. An antique sewing table (left facing) is (mis)-matched with a steel medical cabinet serving as nightstands. (Great antique shopping finds along with the deco table lamp and the purple chair (re-covered). The bedcover, a modern color-on-color floral, cotton crewel, brings to mind the chenille bedspreads of the past. In contrast, the wood platform bed, Roman shades and small “smoking table” are stark and modern. The highly detailed antiques show to advantage against the clean lines of the newer pieces. All is set against a canvas of two-tone lavender walls treated with an Arts and Crafts paint finish called “combing”. Custom bolster and pillow details pick up on the fabrics and colors of their surroundings. Wouldn’t you love to be a guest here?
