Por este motivo, nos centramos en la planta baja: era necesario crear una zona de día amplia y con la cocina abierta, que permitiera a la familia una comunicación fluida.

ArtCraft Homes LLCA classic 1925 Colonial Revival bungalow in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Los Angeles restored and enlarged by Tim Braseth of ArtCraft Homes completed in 2013. Originally a 2 bed/1 bathroom house, it was enlarged with the addition of a master suite for a total of 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Original vintage details such as a Batchelder tile fireplace with flanking built-ins and original oak flooring are complemented by an all-new vintage-style kitchen with butcher block countertops, hex-tiled bathrooms with beadboard wainscoting and subway tile showers, and French doors leading to a redwood deck overlooking a fully-fenced and gated backyard. Decorating Den InteriorsI rearranged pieces from the living room and dining room to create a small seating area in the Bay window. We were able to update her dated cornices with a beautiful embroidered floral in muted tones. The sheers got altered, cleaned and rehung for a low cost face-lift.
Elegant Hardwood FloorsSarah's kitchen and dining room had natural red oak floors that were in need of a refresh. Having grown up with white-washed hardwood floors back east, Sarah wanted to take that concept with a modern twist - so we decided on the grey stain. Playing off of the greys in the kitchen island and granite, the floors give a slight "aged barn wood" look to this beautiful space.
Robin's Nest InteriorsLIVING ROOM
This week’s post features our Lake Forest Freshen Up: Living Room + Dining Room for the homeowners who relocated from California. The first thing we did was remove a large built-in along the longest wall and re-orient the television to a shorter wall. This allowed us to place the sofa which is the largest piece of furniture along the long wall and made the traffic flow from the Foyer to the Kitchen much easier. Now the beautiful stone fireplace is the focal point and the seating arrangement is cozy. We painted the walls Sherwin Williams’ Tony Taupe (SW7039). The mantle was originally white so we warmed it up with Sherwin Williams’ Gauntlet Gray (SW7019). We kept the upholstery neutral with warm gray tones and added pops of turquoise and silver.
We tackled the large angled wall with an oversized print in vivid blues and greens. The extra tall contemporary lamps balance out the artwork. I love the end tables with the mixture of metal and wood, but my favorite piece is the leather ottoman with slide tray – it’s gorgeous and functional!
The homeowner’s curio cabinet was the perfect scale for this wall and her art glass collection bring more color into the space.
The large octagonal mirror was perfect for above the mantle. The homeowner wanted something unique to accessorize the mantle, and these “oil cans” fit the bill. A geometric fireplace screen completes the look.
The hand hooked rug with its subtle pattern and touches of gray and turquoise ground the seating area and brings lots of warmth to the room.
DINING ROOM
There are only 2 walls in this Dining Room so we wanted to add a strong color with Sherwin Williams’ Cadet (SW9143). Utilizing the homeowners’ existing furniture, we added artwork that pops off the wall, a modern rug which adds interest and softness, and this stunning chandelier which adds a focal point and lots of bling!
The Lake Forest Freshen Up: Living Room + Dining Room really reflects the homeowners’ transitional style, and the color palette is sophisticated and inviting. Enjoy!

McKinney Home ImprovementThis unused section of the basement was converted into a beautiful, contemporary kitchen and dining area to complete our customer's Mother-In-Law Suite. An exterior door was added for garage access.
Christina MuhlesteinThis small dining nook is the focal point of this open concept kitchen/family room. The dusty blue chairs were the perfect balance of modern for the wood-beaded chandelier.

W86 Trading Co., LLCA good example of colorful contemporary style. The bright color chairs make a standout from the grayish concrete wall, make the whole space appear more fun and cheerful. The old school metal pendant light adds a touch of nostalgic, while the cool white light make the light goes with the cool tone of the background without being overwhelming.
