Interior Design By JoThe client wanted a space that was inviting and functional as the existing laundry was cramped and did not work.
The existing external door was changed to a window allowing space for under bench pull out laundry baskets, condensor drier and washing machine and a large ceramic laundry sink.
Cabinetry on the left wall included a tall cupboard for the ironing board, broom and mop, open shelving for easy access to baskets and pool towels, lower cupboards for storage of cleaning products, extra towels and pet food, with high above cabinetry at the same height as those above the work bench.
The cabinetry had a 2pak finish in the vivid green with a combination of finger pull and push open for doors and laundry basket drawer. The Amazonia Italian splashback tile was selected to complement the cabinetry, external garden and was used on the wood fired pizza oven, giving the wow factor the client was after.

This colorful laundry room is loaded with storage both in its custom cabinetry and also in its 3 large closets for winter/spring clothing. The black and white 20x20 floor tile gives a nod to retro and is topped off with apple green walls and an organic free-form backsplash tile! This room serves as a doggy mud-room, eating center and luxury doggy bathing spa area as well. The organic wall tile was designed for visual interest as well as for function. The tall and wide backsplash provides wall protection behind the doggy bathing station. The bath center is equipped with a multifunction hand-held faucet with a metal hose for ease while giving the dogs a bath. The shelf underneath the sink is a pull-out doggy eating station and the food is located in a pull-out trash bin.
Higham FurnitureOur client wanted a functional utility room that contrasted the kitchen in style. Instead of the handleless look of the kitchen, the utility room is in our Classic Shaker style with burnished brass Armac Martin Sparkbrook knobs that complement beautifully the aged brass Metis tap and rinse from Perrin & Rowe. The belfast sink is the 'Farmhouse 80' by Villeroy & Boch. The terracotta floor tiles add a warm and rustic feel to the room whilst the white walls and large window make the room feel spacious. The kitchen cabinets were painted in Little Greene's 'Sir Lutyens Sage' (302).
