ImprovaThis modern contemporary style dry bar area features Avant Stone Bianco Orobico - honed, benchtop and splash back with a sliding door to hide the bar when not in use. Polytec Woodmatt has been used for the cabinetry, complimenting the stone perfectly. The storage nook features open shelving with a stunning LED aluminum extrusion. The Aventos HF lift system was used for the taller cabinetry, ensuring easy access.
Ginger Ayn InteriorsThis no-demo renovation brought a tired, 1980's room into the 21st century while embracing the clients' treasured heirlooms. Transitional meets ranch in this early 1900's home that has been completely updated room-by-room with this den being the final room in the project. Keeping the saltillo tile floor, knotty pine ceiling, stone accents, and denim slipcovered sectional was important to the clients. A fresh coat of SW agreeable gray with an urbane bronze accent wall behind the bar freshened everything up. Metallic wallpaper and floating shelves in the bar area are framed by rustic, knotty alder beams. New glass pendants, a large cage light, and coordinating ceiling fans complete the transitional feel of the room.

This bar uses the old-world technique of hand-burning wood to create a dynamic finish that highlights the organic nature of the raw materials. The charred pine door and drawer faces are juxtaposed with crisp machined hardware and a hand-patinated watery brass top to create a look that feels both contemporary and timeless. Amuenal’s signature Contour Pulls span the full length of each door and drawer. The 3-Bay Collector’s Shelving Backbar unit in gunmetal and bronze is the perfect match to the humble complexity of this unit and featuring a Knife Edge lower shelf in Ebonized Oak and glass upper shelves.

Progressive Design BuildThe walk-in pantry was reconfigured in the space and seamlessly blended with the kitchen utilizing the same Dura Supreme cabinetry, quartzite countertop, and tile backsplash. Maximizing every inch, the pantry was designed to include a functional dry bar with wine and beer fridges. New upper glass cabinets and additional open shelving create the perfect way to spice up storage for glassware and supplies.

Our Loft posts in blackened gunmetal and fully machined brass fittings in our buffed brass finish mount from the top of our cabinet and tie back to the wall to support 8 shelves. Amuneal’s proprietary machined hardware clamps onto the posts so that the shelves can be easily adjusted at any time. The burnt oak shelves are milled in house from solid white oak to a thickness of 1.5” before being hand-finished using the traditional Shou Sugi Ban process of burning the wood. Once completed, the shelves are sealed with a protective coating that keeps that burnt finish from rubbing off. The combination of blackened steel posts, machined and patinated brass hardware and the charred oak shelves make this a stunning and sculptural shelving option for any space. Integrated bronze bottle stops and wine glass holders add detail and purpose. The lower portion of this bar system is a tall credenza in one of Amuneal’s new finishes, cerused chestnut. The credenza storage highlights the system’s flexibility with drawers, cabinets and glass fronted doors, all with Amuneal fully machined and full width drawer pulls. Behind the glass doors, are a series of pull-out wine trays, carved from solid oak, allowing both display and storage in this unit. This unit is fabricated in our Philadelphia-based furniture studio and can be customized with different metal and wood finishes as well as different shelf widths, sizes and configurations.

Following our holistic design approach, we added mirrors, artworks, decor, and accessories that easily blend into the architectural design. Beautiful purple chairs in the dining area add an attractive pop, just like the deep pink sofas in the living room. The home bar is designed as a classy, sophisticated space with warm wood tones and elegant bar chairs perfect for entertaining. A dashing home theatre and hot sauna complete this home, making it a luxurious retreat!

Joe McGuire DesignIn this beautiful home, our Boulder studio used a neutral palette that let natural materials shine when mixed with intentional pops of color. As long-time meditators, we love creating meditation spaces where our clients can relax and focus on renewal. In a quiet corner guest room, we paired an ultra-comfortable lounge chair in a rich aubergine with a warm earth-toned rug and a bronze Tibetan prayer bowl. We also designed a spa-like bathroom showcasing a freestanding tub and a glass-enclosed shower, made even more relaxing by a glimpse of the greenery surrounding this gorgeous home. Against a pure white background, we added a floating stair, with its open oak treads and clear glass handrails, which create a sense of spaciousness and allow light to flow between floors. The primary bedroom is designed to be super comfy but with hidden storage underneath, making it super functional, too. The room's palette is light and restful, with the contrasting black accents adding energy and the natural wood ceiling grounding the tall space.
